Re: Washington & Colorado Voters Legalize Marijuana
I don't understand all the negative comments on a plant that actually helps people heal.

The people voted and if you live in these states and don't agree, then move?

And if you think marijuana is the cause of troubled youth and leads to a gateway drug, you may want to google the facts.

I should be a heroin addict living on the streets if marijuana is a gateway drug. Not to mention my whole family, who smokes mainly for medical purposes, and if my father did not smoke or eat, he would be on Oxycontin and other pharmaceutical drugs that have NUMEROUS side effects. And almost forgot to mention that quitting marijuana is one of the easiest "drugs" to get off of.

Now alcohol and tobacco, which is legal mind you, can take months of grueling detox and most alcoholics cannot even quit drinking without the chance of dying.

So please stop basing a so called drug that most people who bash has never touched, and lets just be happy that we the people have the right to vote on such issues.

It beats binge drinking.

Actually, it only adds to it.

Oh, does it?

Care to provide some evidence to back that ridiculous claim?

Ever heard of college? I smoked for many years. I do not anymore.

I cannot advocate legalization of any drug as legalization promotes drugs in a positive light.

I have nothing against anyone smoking pot, I just don't agree with legalizing it.

So... keeping a plant that we both know is essentially harmless illegal is the answer? Why not let adults make decisions for themselves, instead of this stupid nanny state we live in now?

I don't smoke anymore because I'm a father and I'm not risking my child seeing the door get kicked down, our pets get shot, and me hauled off and labeled as some crazy antisocial drug user because I might have a couple of nugs locked away somewhere.
But legalizing the plant just seems like common sense!
