Nearly all camera supports and dolly's in studios are painted matt black to avoid lighting reflections. Some people have very reflective eyes especially if they have an intolerance to bright studio lighting and their eyes water. Next time you look at news readers on TV have a really good look at their eyes and you will be amazed how many use "tinted" contact lenes.  |

They look dark because the guy (presenter) is silhouetted against a light source behind him. Watch it in full screen and you can see it's the reflection of a person. |
