You are completely backwards, and the election results bear this out. GOP needs to become more socially liberal if they ever want to win the Presidency again. The youth of this country, you know those that will be voting for the rest of their lives, are more socially liberal than ever. Dems just need to loudly yell VAGINA, and normally fiscally conservative people will vote for them. Focus on the economy, and stop these ridiculous rape/abortion arguments altogether and start to win Presidential elections again.

A social republican is one who adorns themself with the church - the christian right. That is the problem with the party - relying upon an easy basket of votes instead of looking more deeply into the underlying problems. Separation of church and state - the social republicans totally forget this.
