I can't wait for those fools in Ohio to start complaining about high electricity rates. If they are ignorant enough to vote this guy back into office after his agenda was put out there for everyone to see, then they deserve what they get.

If you voted against this Marxist and you are currently in a Blue state, move to a Red state now! Let these liberal homosexual fools screw themselves into a 3rd world country environment, while the Red states succeed and return to Constitutional gov't.
 Quoting: Big Irish Bastard

And then will come "The Obama Electricity Credits" program, where poor, colored middle class, and illegal alien residents will have their electricity paid for with Obama stash (collected from greedy whites).

Trin, nice looking setup, massive and very clean!

Is that bunker-looking structure with the vents and the hatch doors, where the batteries are?

How many square feet of panels is that?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 27212869

yea those are actually in ground concrete tornado shelters

you can get them for about 3 grand a piece installed if you buy a few from them..

that's cheaper than building a separate building for the stuff above ground and more secure so I went with those

plus it's just cool to have your shit in a bunker

lol

there are 2.5 bunkers full of batteries and 1.5 full of electronics

I'm not sure on the square footage of the panels
 Quoting: ^TrInItY^

Trin, I'm just curious. How would those banks of panels do in a good-sized hailstorm? Or a hurricane like Sandy? Or (God forbid) some jealous asshole driving by with a sack full of rocks? How can you protect them from that? If you covered the panels with small-gauge wire for protection, wouldn't that block out a lot of sun?

These are called 'externalities', as a successful economy functions on more than the 'for sale price'.

What OP says will happen, it already happened in my province over 10 years ago when we elected our liberal premier

he invested heavily on solar and green energy the result was higher gas, and higher electricity costs

Green technology is not yet ready I dont' know if it will ever be

at the pace we consume energy, wind and solar is not a viable option

On the other hand, in the even longer run if a lot of people install grid-tie solar, it will drive down the market price of power during sunny days, so again you'll be feeding the grid at low prices and often drawing power back at higher prices.

It's nice to have the grid to use as a battery though, where you can feed and withdraw power at will. Then you don't have to maintain your own battery!
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 27212869

works for a few only. Once more than 15% go solar the fractional generation cost starts to soar from the poor utilization factor. Not a real solution, sadly.
 Quoting: Kirk

What people fail to realize is that the Power Companies exist to make a PROFIT. Here in Oregon there was a big push in the late 70's for everyone to save electricity. We re-insulated our houses, put in special windows, turned off unneccessary lights, and (after much teeth-gritting) lowered our thermostats in the winter and raised them during the summer. It was so successful that the electric company started losing money. So guess what? They went to the EPA and got a VERY generous rate increase. And they seem to be able to get another rate increase every year or so.

So, if solar and wind usage increases, it appears that the rates will go even higher for those who already can't afford to install those technologies.

So in a push for alternative fuel(Oil and gas being the standard) outlaw coal.
Henry Ford had a method to turn coal into a nice motor fuel to replace gasoline way back.
We cant have that though God forbid the people in West Virgina get rich and put the Arabs out of business. lol Stupid is as stupid does.

Anybody remember the first horseless carriage. I don't either, but I can only imagine how hard it was to get fuel for it. They worked at it and it has brought us this far.
The fact is alternatives do need more work to be efficient. If it can be done with oil, it can be done with solar and wind. Even if it only cuts the use of oil, gas and coal by half that is a big improvement.
Average Americans have had it with these industries and anyone who supports the continued dry fucking we are geting, is obviously thier whore.
I love capitalism and making honest dollars is quite satisfying, but constant market manipulations and outright price fixing needs to stop. And we subsidize these industries with billions yearly.
Why the fuck is this a issue that even has political sides?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 17549114

Let's pretend the GOP are not evil nasty oil hungry bastards.

Let's just say they want to see renewable energy.

Now with that said, you don't replace an industry with something that costs 10x's as much or in Ohio's case 22x's more and force the change.

You come up with a cheap alternative first, then change.

Forcing people to pay obscene amounts is fucking stupid and pointless. Making them change before anything cheap is ready is stupid.

I would feel bad for them but they voted for Obama. I hope they get big raises.
 Quoting: FatalW1shes

I hear and understand what you are saying.
In the begining I am sure a car cost 10x's more than a horse and it was a choice to own one and that in todays society you really do not have that choice with electricity.

I am sure the people who chose to keep thier horse bitched about the cost of roads being built, but it was for the betterment of all.
Take every dime subsidized to oil and allocate it to this research. Wouldnt cost a penny more.

"Forcing people to pay obsene amounts" happens everytime you pull up to a gas pump. Normal supply and demand does not apply to big oil. The current price of a barrel does not support the price at the pump.

Let me paint a picture for you.
You are a inmate (American consumer) in prison and your being raped. There is a line waiting to take thier turn. Big oil is in you at the moment and at the end of that line is Alternative Energy. You cant wait to be fucked by alternatives because you know when they are done the fucking will be over. You are going to be fucked either way, but the sooner its over the better.

Siding with big energy as a politician just proves to me that they care nothing about the average American.

.

First I linked Faux news and 1 liberal source from CBS and 1 moderate source from Forbes.

Three links, three political views and all three said the same thing.

Second there is a rule in the universe that humans must abide by on this planet.

Matter cannot be created or destroyed, only changed.

So we are not creating anymore C02 than what was already here to begin with.

Since Trees and Green plants eat C02, we give them food to eat by burning coal.

Also C02 on a molecular level is heavier than oxygen. That is why when you blow up a balloon it sinks to the ground. The C02 you expel is enough of a mix to cause the balloon to fall.

So how can a heavier than air gas cause global warming?

CO2 sinks and gets absorbed into the ground. Where the fuck do you think all the coal came from in the first place?

Everything you know and were taught by the liberals is a fucking lie.

Science and facts negate the lies but liberals like you refuse to see the facts for what they are because they make you look stupid.

I have made several energy related discoveries. One is a process that doubles the current output of solar cells. I was waiting for the direction of America to change before releasing it. Now that the libtards are continuing down the path of fascism I need to find a God loving country worthy of it's use. Any recommendations would be welcome. Are there any left, or should I wait until after the desolation?
