I am shocked. I really thought this would pass in this blue state. We also voted to raise our own taxes. How stupid can we be?

I guess they are. Either that, or corporations really have control over the results of elections and its all one big dog and pony show.

It's a real shame OP, and I have certainly have my doubts about the vote count, and WHO was doing the counting. The big food corporations pumped millions into this proposition, as they knew their livelihood was on the line. In my opinion there was nothing they wouldn't do to shoot this thing down. How in the world can people vote against knowing what they are eating?? Mind boggling to say the least.

I can't believe this post lives on... Who actually thinks their vote counts. Have you met your fellow Americans? 99% are not capable of understanding what a "Yes/No" proposition even is... Not to mention the actual issue on the proposition. If you were in power, would YOU let your friends and neighbors cast a vote? Do they really have the mental capacity to understand the issue and what their vote is going to do. I doubt it. TPTB also know this. They also know they can do whatever they want, shove it down your throat, and make you like it. If raping our wives and daughters at airports is acceptable, than whats a little toxic food... Eat up! Oh yea, vote too!

It passed-saw it myself. Can't find the page anymore. After 100% of precincts were in at 430 this morning, it passed by 68000 votes approx.

To the people saying voter fraud, I'll go with possible, but I met alot of fucking idiots who voted against it thinking changing some ink on a label that was already gonna get printed would cost them so much money. I tend to believe the people are just that fucking stupid, money buys the elections. And I don't mean directly, I mean people see a bunch of commercials on one side, they don't think about who pays for them or what their motivation is. I had a hell of a fucking time selling my family members on 37, the people are just that stupid.

I'm very unhappy about it, too - I voted YES on that one, for SURE. I think they 8 million plus dollars spent on scare campaigning against it was effective enough - telling people that their FOOD BILL would GO UP - in these economic times? I think that is ALL it took to tip it, personally. I debunked so many of their lame commercials, but that one I think hit a nerve with many.
