| Anonymous Coward User ID: 11906627 11/07/2012 08:54 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I am shocked. I really thought this would pass in this blue state. We also voted to raise our own taxes. How stupid can we be? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 27219158 California appears to have raised taxes, undermined a profitable industry and show to the world that they don't care what's in their own food all in one night. |

Yeah, something wrong with this picture. Voting to get poisoned and be more poor. Me thinks something is rotten around here. From my heart to yours. |

The big food corporations pumped millions into this proposition, as they knew their livelihood was on the line. In my opinion there was nothing they wouldn't do to shoot this thing down. How in the world can people vote against knowing what they are eating?? Mind boggling to say the least. To conquer fear is the beginning of wisdom. |

| Anonymous Coward User ID: 21943549 11/07/2012 09:13 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I can't believe this post lives on... Who actually thinks their vote counts. Have you met your fellow Americans? 99% are not capable of understanding what a "Yes/No" proposition even is... Not to mention the actual issue on the proposition. If you were in power, would YOU let your friends and neighbors cast a vote? Do they really have the mental capacity to understand the issue and what their vote is going to do. I doubt it. TPTB also know this. They also know they can do whatever they want, shove it down your throat, and make you like it. If raping our wives and daughters at airports is acceptable, than whats a little toxic food... Eat up! Oh yea, vote too! |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1266452 No votes were truly counted. Results were paid for. From what I hear; Nestle, Monsanto and others combined for $84 million or something to have this prop fail. I guess Nestle isn't da very best anymore! Mo fo's! I saw some no on prop 37 ads online/tv Haha they try to make it look like they care or are doing something good. When actually the things said make no sense at all. Last Edited by ~Spaze*Man~ on 11/07/2012 09:22 AM |
| Anonymous Coward User ID: 18835047 11/07/2012 09:28 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Ca. Prop 37 failed by a margin of 535,702 votes! How is it that this is possible in California? I don't even care about anything else that was voted on in any state this election cycle, not even the POTUS election as much as I cared about GMO's being required to be disclosed on the labels of food products. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 3643010 Monsanto and their like are our enemy. Get this through your heads. FCUK the Polar bears! Let's save our selves! [link to losangeles.cbslocal.com] It passed-saw it myself. Can't find the page anymore. After 100% of precincts were in at 430 this morning, it passed by 68000 votes approx. |
| Anonymous Coward User ID: 21473936 11/07/2012 09:34 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | To the people saying voter fraud, I'll go with possible, but I met alot of fucking idiots who voted against it thinking changing some ink on a label that was already gonna get printed would cost them so much money. I tend to believe the people are just that fucking stupid, money buys the elections. And I don't mean directly, I mean people see a bunch of commercials on one side, they don't think about who pays for them or what their motivation is. I had a hell of a fucking time selling my family members on 37, the people are just that stupid. |

| Anonymous Coward User ID: 27229462 11/07/2012 11:12 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | A Californian ballot proposing the labelling of genetically modified ingredients in food products has been rejected by the state's voters . With 95% of votes counted, the polls showed 47% voted in favour and 53% against. The contentious measure, proposition 37, would have required GM labels on food sold in supermarkets, and was seen as a testbed case for the US as a whole. |
| Geo777 User ID: 21201441 11/07/2012 11:17 AM ![]() Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I'm very unhappy about it, too - I voted YES on that one, for SURE. I think they 8 million plus dollars spent on scare campaigning against it was effective enough - telling people that their FOOD BILL would GO UP - in these economic times? I think that is ALL it took to tip it, personally. I debunked so many of their lame commercials, but that one I think hit a nerve with many. Geo777 |
