The above statement was a general statement regarding criminal behavior, not this case.

The daughter in this case has brought some serious accusations against her father. We shall see if they are true or not.

If they are, this guy needs to be punished for his actions, if they are not, the daughter should be punished.

Roseanne Barr did something similar to this and accused BOTH her parents of rape and abuse. And when that didn't go over too well and they adamantly denied this (although it helped to sell her book) she switched to having multiple personalities instead (so she can blame one of those people of making this up)
She is a very troubled soul no doubt.

I have a feeling many actors are disturbed people by and large. Not all. Many. Acting is an escape mechanism and a venue where one can lie comfortably and perfect their skills.
Acting is a lie. And your goal is to convince the audience it's/you're believable.

This case with Brie is not scoring high on my eternal truth meter with the guns especially the pink one. And the no make-up. And the self praising ("I turned out to be a good person...") to me are signs of a not-so-centered individual.

Not necessarily. In divorce situations, it is not uncommon for a mother to lie about events, and brainwash their children to thinking something happened which didn't. We need actual evidence -- from people like doctors...

the audacity of her step mother subscribing is what pushed this girl over the edge.

The accusations are so terrible that it seems almost impossible for her mother or anyone in that home to not know something had to be going on, they say there are no court cases in one link but she shows one on her page that her mother filed against him from the beatings.

The mother got a way and took her kids away from him which is good.

on that note, if this girl is lying, that is a horrible thing but if that man beat that woman her mother the court needs to take her mental capacity into account. Also you think this might affect her job?, she teaches children yet she is going thru a mental breakdown flashing weapons on youtube.

No, not really. It is one thing to do a monologue to the camera, and another to be acting with someone else. I've seen actors look bad in one scene and great another.

She sounds like a victim of the Monarch project. This is the kind of abuse and torture they do to little kids to split off personalities (multiple personality disorder) so they can program them as mind controlled slaves. It usually starts with dad (and or mom) victimizing them at a very young age.

What I find truly disturbing is, if she is lying, she's being rewarded by publicity either way. Even bad publicity is good for an actor. It puts their name out there. And in time, it's fades.

The way she clenches her teeth over and over again, when she speaks of her rapist, to me, looks like acting. It's visual acting to accompany the audio acting.

I just don't buy this for many reasons.

She's 27 years old. Why not come out with this earlier? Surely she can't be that scared if she choose to put her father's name out there on YouTube. She defeated everything some of you are saying, was her purpose of keeping this to herself all these years.

What I'm curious is, what did she expect to happen next (if...this is a lie which I suspect is)? I mean, surely this was going to get to her high-profiled father, which it did. Then what? Is this a matter of a she-said he-said contest?

I'm not so sure her step mother isn't involved to help launch Brie's career by subscribing to her channel and being the catalyst. I don't know for sure but at this rate, I wouldn't be surprised.

What about her mother? Brother? Cousins, aunts, uncles and neighbors? School friends? Will there be any corroboration to her allegations?

When did these rapes take place? Where was the mother? I have a feeling this is the beginning of a huge mess for her but probably a very well-thought out one too!

If she's caught lying, she deserves prison time! Not jail. Not home arrest. Not probation but prison to discourage others not to try this.

Who are the two witnesses? What kind of witness do they provide? If, for example, one is her mother, it could be her mother made the whole thing up, and it is a conspiracy out of revenge. What is needed is good, solid evidence. Like doctor and dental records from the time period in question. For both of them. And what the doctors have to say about said time period. That is much better evidence. Also, I think a medical examination of her genitals is necessary... if he did that every day for years, there would be real medical evidence here..

Unfortunately this is more common than we will ever know because most children don't want to tell anyone because they are ashamed of what is happening at home. I counseled a girl once who tried to hang herself at 14 with an electrical cord because her mom had died and her father was forcing her to have sex with him in order to live in their house and eat. She was beautiful, popular at school, and upper middle class, and did not tell one person about it until she tried to take her life. He eventually was charged and she went into foster care, but it had been going on for two years. It's so awful that there are sick bastards like this in the world and so many of you want to say she is acting or making it up. Why not give her the benefit of the doubt? I don't believe many people out there would put themselves through this sort of public humiliation except that she is genuinely terrified of her "father".

As has been stated before, direction, content of the script, etc can all make or break someone. Many who are "good actors" look bad in the wrong parts. It's not so simple.

However, you are right that this is publicity for her either way, and the thing is that now she will be known. I think there's no way to absolutely prove this story FALSE either, and there would always be people who heard the initial story from her side and not the father's...just like it would probably be difficult to prove it TRUE as well, unless there's some sort of evidence she may have, perhaps testimony from people such as doctors, neighbors??

It seems that something like this get emotions running and sometimes people will not think logically about an issue such as this. Scary. Like I said, it's very disturbing either way.

Innocent until proven guilty. Why not give people accused the benefit of the doubt, when that protects justice, and makes it that people have to prove a case (you can't prove a negative)? Why should innocent people be treated with contempt because someone just accused them and they have to prove they didn't do it?
