Alabama Votes No to remove racist language from Constitution Amendment 4

Yep Alabama still racist. After voting Yes to remove the said language in there myself, I was surprised to see the results last night.
Amendment 4 - Removing Discriminatory Language Party Candidate Name Winner Number of Votes Vote Percentage Yes 464,139 38% (to remove racist language) No 757,673 62% (no to remove it)
State Senator Bryan Taylor said that the state deserved better than its reputation, claiming, "Like it or not, Alabama still has a reputation for racism. That seems to be what a lot of people think of when they think of Alabama.
I voted yes on amendment 4. However, the reason people voted No on this amendment had nothing to do with race. If you people would read the entire amendment you would have realized that it also, unfortunately,would have removed the part obliging the state of Alabama to provide public education. I do not have children in the public school system so that really didnt matter to me and I think the money given to the public schools is mismanaged. So before people start accusing Alabamians of being racist you need to check your facts.
