"The new Nor'easter, although not as strong as Hurricane Sandy, has the potential to slow down restoration and cause new outages,” JCP&L President Don Lynch said in a statement Tuesday. “We urge all our customers to prepare, just in case, and ask for their patience while we deal with the weather's next onslaught.”

An additional 600 linemen arrived Tuesday to help with restoring power, according to the utility.

JCP&L spokesman Ron Morano said Wednesday the utility has “an army of more than 10,000 people” and they are adding more crews today.

The repairable areas mostly have their power restored.... but there are areas where its so damaged that its easier to run new gas/electric than trying to fix it....some 4-6 month projects....

The 8 months is on a barrier Island, Seaside Heights.

Six to eight months is the estimate. They must first clear the debris and water. Then dig up the entire pipe line.
Also read that the police and firefighters were going door to door to evacuate those still trying to shelter in place.

Time for those affected without gas to bring in their own private contractor and change over to propane until their natural gas lines are fixed. Hopefully this could be paid for when the homeowners get their insurance money.
