OCCURRED FOR AT LEAST TWO HOURS THEN LOCAL AUTHORITIES CAN ASSUME
THE THREAT IS PASSED. DANGER TO BOATS AND COASTAL STRUCTURES CAN
CONTINUE FOR SEVERAL HOURS DUE TO THE CONTINUING SEA LEVEL
CHANGES AND RAPID CURRENTS. AS LOCAL CONDITIONS CAN CAUSE A WIDE
VARIATION IN TSUNAMI WAVE ACTION THE ALL CLEAR DETERMINATION MUST
BE MADE BY LOCAL AUTHORITIES.

NO TSUNAMI THREAT EXISTS FOR OTHER COASTAL AREAS IN THE PACIFIC

Because most of us know a 7.5 EQ typically moves an entire tectonic plate just a schmidge or so.

Death toll from Guatemala earthquake has risen to 10. Fatalities are from the town of San Pedro Sacatepequez, some 250 kilometers west of the capital Guatemala City.

The Minister of Energy and Mining informs that 73 thousand people are without electricity in the area.

Today's Guatemala quake is the strongest quake since the terrible earthquake that hit Guatemala in 1976.

76000 people are still without electricity. As most of the wireless sending masts are depending on power and based on our experience have no batteries, telecommunications will not be possible neither.
