The proton spikes are another matter entirely. We've watching this activity on Nin's thread for quite awhile now, and from what we've seen it's not creating an EQ, if that's what you mean, although, as a precursor ???? Certainly hasn't been ruled out.

Update 19:55 UTC : The Guatemala President, Otto Pérez Molina, has told the nation during a press conference that the rescue services will get all necessary funds to cope with this disaster. He also told the affected people not to stay in their houses the next 48 hours if these have been damaged.

Does anyone else find it interesting that guatemala is right below the new madrid fault line? A physics paper came out last year how scientists are now realizing and studying earthquakes weaken fault lines thousands of miles away. , this is something to keep a eye on.

So I am thinking we had a big one to the north of Haida Gwaii......... and there have been several to the south off Central America. If I was between these locations I would be a bit concerned about the next slip release on the fault somewhere on the US west coast. Anybody else thinking along these lines?
