Now remember, he's making these predictions months in advance.

I supose you might get lucky if you said...December 2nd 6.5 EQ.

But, making a long string of predictions of various sizes and nailing them one after another...quite a bit more difficult.

And it's not like he;s a prophet. He's not "seeing" a quake happen somewhere. He is simply saying such-and-such planets will be alligned on these days, so we'll see a quake of such-and-such a size.

In other words, he is using good old astrology.

hmm.. isnt that what the Mayans did?

Yes and no.
The Mayas were an ancient cultur who whorshipped divinities they associated with the heavenly bodies. Also, they had a different value system attached to them (i.e. Venus was felt to be a dangerous, blood-thirsty planet). Today's (or even 2000 year old) astrology does have theories about predicting the weather, earthquakes, etc; but this has nothing to do with divinities but with certain planets and their relative positions. I.e. Uranus and PLuto are believed to be instrumental in earthquakes (look it up, I might not be totally accurate), so if they are in square or opposition, you might expect something. But of course it's a lot more complex than that.

I said PG must be using good old astrology as modern astronomy certainly doesn't accept any connection between earthly earthquakes and heavenly movements.
