Ummm no that's most definitely not the case. The 2 witnesses of the Bible are the old and new testaments... but good try. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1580547
The first book of the bible started out with 2 Adam and Eve.
The last book of the bible end with 2 Joshuah and Zerubabbel
The old and new testament are not going to be laying in the street for 3 days as the bible declares the 2 witnesses will
The bible is another example of showing an Adam/Eve, Israel/Judah type shadow. The bible started out as 1(the old testament). Then Jesus came forth and 1 testament became 2 testaments (old testament, new testament) and together the two testament become 1 book to those who can see the truth
Here are the 'two witnesses' in revelation 11:
3 And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth
.(the old and new testament have had power longer than that)
4 These are the two olive trees
, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth.(Remember these are the two Olive Trees, we will see this again in the book of Zechariah describing Joshua and Zerubabbel)
5 And if any man will hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies: and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed.
6 These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will.
7 And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them.
(you can't kill the bible)
8 And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city
, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.(the bible isn't going to be laying in the street)
9 And they of the people and kindreds and tongues and nations shall see their dead bodies three days and an half, and shall not suffer their dead bodies to be put in graves.
(they have bodies)
10 And they that dwell upon the earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts one to another; because these two prophets
tormented them that dwelt on the earth.(it is two prophets)
11 And after three days and an half the spirit of life from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet
; and great fear fell upon them which saw them.(they have feet)
12 And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up hither. And they ascended up to heaven
in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them.
Now lets look at Zechariah the same description of Olive trees is given:
The story in Haggai and Zechariah is about building the temple after the destruction of Israel. Joshua and Zerubabbel were the leaders of it and the remnant of the people helped them. Look at Zechariah 4:3 And two Olive trees by it, one upon the right side of the bowl, and the other upon the left side thereof
(this is showing the end time Adam and Eve(Joshua and Zerubabbel) building the spiritual temple, because the bible shows physical first and spiritual last. Again in Zechariah we see mention of the same two olive trees
mentioned as the two witnesses in Revelation 11..here it is in Zechariah4:
11 Then I answered and said to him, “What are these two olive trees
—at the right of the lampstand and at its left?” 12 And I further answered and said to him, “What are these two olive branches that drip into the receptacles of the two gold pipes from which the golden oil drains?”
13 Then he answered me and said, “Do you not know what these are?”
And I said, “No, my lord.”
14 So he said, “These are the two anointed ones
, who stand beside the Lord of the whole earth.”
That is the two witnesses that will sit on the left and right of Jesus in the kingdom and have dominion over their children just as promised to Adam and Eve in the beginning.
