Colorado And Washington Legalize Marijuana... Anyone planning on moving yet?
bonghit

[link to news.yahoo.com]

This to me seems like a pretty big step because they kind of skipped over California's stand on it and said screw it make it legal for everyone over 21 and take the medical label off of it.

Do you guys think this will pave the way for total legalization?

I have a lot of cops in my family and they always complain about how much work time and manpower they waste enforcing the stupid law of MJ and wish they could focus on things that actually hurt people.

So I'd love to hear your opinon Trolls and All.

I believe this a good step in getting what isn't harmful especially compared to alcohol legalized...

So many people think that the FEDS banned MJ because of it's effects but that has never once been true.

It was all tax related to the HEMP industry.

Lets get our laws in check and people who are against this stuff should read legislation before talking about how it's illegal for it's effects.

Colorado had legalized medicinal use a few years ago, so full legalization wasn't their first step. I never got a "prescription" for it, as I didn't want to be on a list.

Although getting good weed here has never been a problem (especially after legalizing medicinal) I'm looking forward to being able to buy it in a dispensary within the next year.

Hopefully this (along with the additional states legalizing medicinal use) will force the government to take it off the schedule 1 drug list.

I imagine they will take your name down when you buy it and then watch your every move so they can catch you with illegal drugs (or more weed than you're allowed to have). Which, let's be honest, most pot-smokers do very frequently. Or they are just REALLY cool......

Hmmmm, probably not.

This is very good.

Sincerely it is a waste of time and resources, the society trying to knock down something that people will always do (smoke weed), hidden or visible, illegal or legal.

So, let's stop the waste, and legalize.

Colorado just took the right step.

People will be happier, the government earning more, and the police with less worries.

YES, we will be moving. I am a Veteran and a card carrying medical marijuana patient in Nevada and Michigan. I moved this summer to North Dakota and there is no legal or medical marijuana program which means I now have to go without my medication.

The VA is giving me prescriptions, but those are killing my liver and one of them even lists side effects as, "Sudden Death Syndrome". SO, I can die or use natural medication as needed for my chronic pain and now glaucoma or suffer.

YES...wish I knew where there was cheap rent, guaranteed jobs and somewhere we could go that took a cat though. Wife is Canadian and can not work until we finish the Adjustment of Status (AOS) and I am working with the V.A. on higher service-connected issues and vocational rehabilitation as I can no longer work as a musician because of the Army.

I was originally thinking Colorado anyway. However, with last night's results, Washington may be an option. Just need to figure out the details as it probably will not be until next year.

They crafted it to be the same as selling liquor. They don't take down your info when you buy a 6-pack, hopefully they will not be taking down info when I go get a few grams.

If they happen to insist on taking info, I'll just continue buying from my current guy - who supplies to the medical dispensaries.

Can you suggest the best place in Colorado for a couple/family with a cat to move to? Ideally, with a V.A. hospital near by or within an hour and decent economy. Thanks!!!

No, don't envy us. We have been homeless twice in the last year and it has been very difficult with losing a family member, having to leave a great college program that was being paid for by the V.A. and having to worry about immigration constantly. That is why we are thinking about it now to start planning. Maybe save EVERYTHING we can as I find work that doesn't involve my hands (not easy to do) and plan on the Spring of 2013. I think Texas should at least start the medical program if not legalize it.

what you dont know about this initiative 502 is that its going to be even worse than it being illegal, know how? when you drive down the road a cop can pull you ver and test your blood for thc content, even if you didnt smoke that day you can have enough in your system to get arrested, so the reality of this bill is yes you can smoke but if you do you cant drive, within the time it takes your system to process the thc down to legal levels, i think its under .5 nano grams.

We will see I guess...

It's not like people who smoke don't already have a connection. And it's not like that connection will *POOF* disappear once stores open.

If people think that they're giving away too much privacy by buying at a store, they'll get it outside of the store.

Cause of all the military bases in Colorado, the state is very supportive and plentiful of Veterans services.

However, for those of us that have bought from dispensaries in the past, I know many (self-included) that can not go back to anything not professionally grown. Plus, you REALLY have to trust someone selling you something not grown by pros. I mean, I want certain strains for certain things and only at certain times for certain things and like when I can look up the content and thc levels (if they are tested).

Any place along the front range. As was already said, Denver has a VA hospital. Fort Collins is a beautiful town that's about an hour north of Denver - great college there as well (CSU).
