To own an automatic weapon in this country requires that it was made before 1984, it takes about 20k cash and the federal tax stamps and the ATF crawling up your asshole.


Not just anybody can own one. They are illegal and banned. You will do serious time if you are caught with one that is not registered.

For the most part, 98% of gun owners will never see an automatic weapon as they are too costly.

Also, "arms" should totally include nuclear arms and chemical arms. I think it's in Finland where you have to undergo rigorous checks in order to pack heat. Over here any mentally ill nutter in the right state can acquire guns and blow up whoever he wants to (how many times in the news do we hear about some guy with 'obvious mental distress' who snaps one day and kills a dozen bystanders?)

I knew a guy who ended up in the psycho ward maybe five or six times recently. He managed to drive across a few state lines and buy a gun despite the fact that he's one peanut short of a nutter butter.

Okay, the end of what I said was being a smartass, but rocket launchers? Come on, how do you have a well regulated state militia when one tank could take your whole town the fuck down?

(okay, I just think it sounds like it'd be badass at a specialty shooting range, but in the light of the "militia" argument [go read the second amendment], rocket launchers seriously do feel basically necessary, a militia isn't just to protect yourself from the poor person robbing you)
