"No Free Man Should be Barred the Use of Firearms. The Strongest Reason, For the People, To Maintain Their Right to Keep and Bear Arms, Is to Protect Themselves as a Last Resort, Against Tyranny in Government".

The first Chief Justice of the US Supreme Court said...

The Great Object is that Every Man be Armed.

The United States was born in Revolution. Our Founding Fathers feared standing armies and overzealous Government. So the 2nd Amendment was installed as a defense against Tyranny. This is the reason why, even today, we have the unorganized Militia of Title 10 Section 311 in US Code.

Times and Seasons change but the heart of a man never changes. Its evil and has always been. That's why we have a 2nd Amendment. And we're NOT going to give it up either.

Ahh.. Thank you.

That all I wanted to know.

Remember that I am an outside party looking in, we don't all know your laws all we see is the storys in the news about kids getting shot eveyday, perhaps this is part of the problem, MSM making the 1000's of deaths look like a problem

Good point, I am fr0m a small country (5m) and our crime is pretty low, a murder in NZ is headline news for weeks, LOL

I guess once you get into the 100's of millions the game changes.

Sorry to all the Americans I have offended by asking these questions.

Your questions seem to be honest and not trolling.

Please understand that just because we have the right to bear arms does not mean that this country is some sort of a "Wild West", for 99.8% (give or take) of people it isn't.

Many people here choose not to own one due to a reliance of safety nets and barriers to crime based upon where they live. For them they will never need one.

Many people choose not to own one because they have so little faith in themselves, they fear the moment they touch a gun they will become a robber/gang member/killer. These are the ones with no self control.

Many grew up with guns in the form of hunting and are as used to having them around as a can-opener or knife.

Many keep one (in a closet) around just in case of a break in, but most never have to use it.

There are very small pockets of lawlessness that exist but people there have never needed nor respected laws. Much like Fukashima we have so many guns (radioactive-particles) you really can't stop anything through the use of law, it's more about self protection and IT IS OUR RIGHT that is intended by the Second Amendment to be able to protect ourselves.

Now if my neighbor has a nuke do I need one, NO. That's just stupid. Throughout all of history this entire point comes down to the individual being able to protect against ANOTHER individual without requiring the protection of the state.
