OP, I'd never really thought about this before, but you make a good point. Mitt should have done more "getting to know you" interviews with his family in the final weeks. It seemed like he was afraid to give interviews towards the end. Maybe he was afraid he would say something that could hurt him. I think he should have approached it much differently. If America had really gotten to know him and his family better in a more personal way I think it would have helped him tremendously.
