AN AREA OF LOW PRESSURE WILL DEVELOP NEAR DENVER FRIDAY NIGHT AND THEN MOVE TO NEAR DULUTH SATURDAY NIGHT. SNOW WILL FALL IN THE COLDER AIR OVER WESTERN AND CENTRAL NORTH DAKOTA FRIDAY NIGHT AND SATURDAY... WITH MOSTLY RAIN FARTHER EAST OVER SOUTHEASTERN NORTH DAKOTA INTO MINNESOTA. THERE MAY BE A TRANSITION ZONE WHERE FREEZING RAIN FALLS... AND SIGNIFICANT ICING IS POSSIBLE WITH THIS STORM. PRECIPITATION WILL CHANGE TO ALL SNOW SATURDAY NIGHT AS MUCH COLDER AIR MOVES INTO THE REGION.

BASED ON THIS TRACK... THERE IS THE POTENTIAL FOR HEAVY SNOW IN AREAS WEST OF A JAMESTOWN TO GRAND FORKS TO ROSEAU LINE. IN ADDITION... A BAND OF FREEZING RAIN IS ALSO POSSIBLE WHERE SNOW TRANSITIONS TO RAIN FURTHER SOUTH AND EAST. TRAVEL WILL LIKELY BECOME DIFFICULT FRIDAY NIGHT AND SATURDAY FOR PORTIONS OF THE REGION.

we've had a light drizzle for the last couple of days, but canada is the second largest country in the world...i doubt the rest of the nation needs to worry about a blizzard in winnipeg

A) Canada's kind of a biggish place.
B) Winnipeg can't be hurt by snow, there is nothing in Winnipeg.

They are calling for approx 15 - 20cm of snow between Friday and Saturday.

That's enough to cover the city in a sparkly white blanket and with the wind build some good size drifts.

Most likely in my driveway and sidewalks.

Looks like Winnipeg is going to get a dump of snow. Kids will love it if they're parents drive very carefully and not to much.

But that is not all of Canada, and people up North tend to get snow dumps frequently.

Here in the Fraser Valley, BC, its very mild, rains alot. Seattle temps.
