I've read so many posts here from people who are seemingly without compassion and have said some terrible things about the storm victims . . . add to that, Chris Matthews saying he's glad the storm happened - and add to THAT, the digusting failures of the government - once again - to help the citizenry in need.

Most of the country apparently thinks it was a big storm, did a lot of damage, and they've just picked up the pieces and business as usual . . . I read one report that said some areas won't have gas service for several more months because sea water got into the lines and they have to be replaced . . . and other places where NO ONE is helping.

What the hell has happened to America and humanity?

How many are truly surprised by this? They don't give a damn about us.

I think you guys are making more out of this than is there. Here is a snip explaining their reason, but i have a feeling you aren't going to be satisfied with their reason.

FEMA spokesman Carter Langston said that the mobile centers were shuttered and staff moved inland because they were not structurally sound enough to weather the storm, which could put their staff in danger.

"Because these are mobile centers, they were shut down for life safety," Langston said. "As soon as weather permits tomorrow, they’re going to be back in place [possibly by noon]."

The remaining five sites in the city — in Staten Island, Coney Island, the Rockaways and The Bronx — were also closed or in the process of shutting down.

It would seem to me that FEMA is supposed to be there for people in times of need and disaster... FEMA is the last group I would expect to pull out, just when the going gets tough... Where do those 30,000 plus people, still without power, go to warm up now?
Here's hoping those without power, get through this with their health in tact.

So this is what our taxes go for ..... this is what we can expect. If you haven't gotten it yet ...
