How shall I remove the hillbilly veil of stupidity and ignorance that some have by this post. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 27125761 Texas has its own high-tech centers in Austin, Dallas, etc. Companies like Dell are headquartered there. Most of the country's oil refining (about 41 percent) takes place in Texas and the Gulf states and another 20 percent takes place in Midwestern states. So if they decided to not supply refined petroleum to Blue states, those states would be truly screwed. Also, lets not forget the huge military base of Fort Hood, NASA's Johnson Space Center, and a whole lot more. Sheesh some people are so dumb. You're so dumb if you think we're going to let you hold onto federal land and assets. Nope, you don't get our military bases, sorry. Hey dummy I don't live in Texas, so you can re-direct your anger by saying "you" don't get our military bases. LOL In fact, I would travel to Texas to defend them from assholes like you if it ever came push to shove, and I know many others that would do the same. So F-off. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1421478 Competition baby! Get the fuck out of the way if you're too ignorant and uneducated to keep up with the times! Wall street 4tw. Um, no. What you've done is slowly collapse the retail market in the United States and all the secondary business that props up around it. When Apple manufactures its products off shore, technically all the profits and proceeds get labeled as those of an "American Company" but all the salaries they paid out to their assembly workers -- that money gets circulated in Chinese restaurants, Chinese supermarkets, Chinese department stores, Chinese dry cleaners, Chinese real estate, etc. It's money directly being removed from the local United States economy for the express purpose of vastly increasing corporate profits -- the exact things "Blue States" are supposed to be "protecting against" with their "better policies for workers". And thus the Marxist-Capitalist alliance of the Trotskyite neo-liberals that has been in effect since WWII is laid bare. The solution to people like you is extermination. A totalitarian National Socialist state must be formed to exterminate you off the face of the planet. The solution to you is Adolf Hitler. |

The vast majority of veterans are from Red States and live in Red States. The vast majority of military bases are located in Red States as are most of the private firearms. The vast majority of private firearm owners and veterans living in Blue States are the 40% voting Republican. I'm sorry.. this just seems utterly delusional. Texas Comptroller Susan Combs reported Wednesday that total tax collections for the 2012 budget year, which ended Aug. 31, were $3.7 billion higher than had been estimated in December. That total amounts to 13 percent more than the $40.3 billion in tax revenue that Combs had projected would come in during the first half of the state's two-year budget cycle and was even higher than the estimates lawmakers used to write the 2012-13 budget in May. Soaring oil and gas production in West Texas and the Eagle Ford Shale in South Texas are major drivers of the better-than-expected revenue collections. Now guess where many of those California businesses are moving? [link to globaleconomicanalysis.blogspot.com] [link to dallaschamberblog.org] In his interview, Vranich bluntly explains the business exodus from California calling it “the most regulated state in the United States” and goes on to give a list of reasons why companies are fleeing the Golden State for more business-friendly states like Texas. |
