Quoting: mr_brightside74 Problem is many states' constitution will only allow for succession if 30+ other states also decide to do the same. Kentucky has legislative precedence that supports secession. This is because in 1798 and 1799 it passed and ratified two legislative resolutions, the Kentucky and Virginia Resolutions, which establish that Kentucky's states rights trump federal rights. The Kentucky and Virginia Resolutions were drafted by Thomas Jefferson and James Madison. Both former Presidents recommended all of the states (already formed at the time) to pass and ratify both resolutions. The State has already voted 4 to 1 for separation from the Federal Corp, so in effect Texas has an independent republic status. They can just say no more at any time they like. Note that the Texas Republic also includes parts of Colorado, Kansas, Oklahoma, New Mexico and Wyoming. |

WOuld be a victory of sorts. Montana has plenty of its own resources. One of the only states that did not have a deficit at the end of last year. We would survive. Plenty of gun owners too. GO MONTANA ! |
