My sister called me today, she's a doctor.
My sister is a doctor (OB), she called me today and said she had been crying since last night. She is beside herself. Now that the final nail has been driven into the US medical industry it's hit her hard.
Main issue for doctors is that they are being mandated too and regulated like never before. Most of Obamacare focuses on regulations, not the patient. That's what most people don't get. It's all about reporting back to the government. They will be determining your treatments and watching every facet of your "care".
This is scary. Take some time and dissect the bill. It's a whopper, makes our tax code look like 1st grade reading.

Docs in my area are already putting out the notice that they are opting out of the system by not accepting medicare, etc. There is a run on getting into these offices before they fill up.

Most have a questionair that you are asked, including questions such as "Do you own a gun?", if yes, they then want to know if it is locked up, where it is, if there are children in the house and if you ever felt suicidal.
I know this for a Fact because it happened to me a couple of weeks ago.

I'm not totally sure of the big picture as much as she is but she is worried about the quality of care that people will get. There are issues with bringing new patients into a practice and the paperwork is excessive to say the least.

The same type of "service" you now get from any governmental agency (municipal, state, or federal).

If you want a image of what to expect, think of the driver's license bureau...or the tax collector's office....now that you have them in mind, try and remember how "efficient" and "timely" they were in helping you...

Do you really have to pay cash to get fixed in the hospital in America.

What if you are severly injured or dying and you dont have enough money to pay them, what happens, or do you have to pay first.

I'm keen to understand how the system works now, and what affect this new system will have, could someone explain for me please.

it goes so much further than just the medical industry, my brother in law works for the "evil" koch brothers, and a letter was sent to all employees today saying there would be massive layoffs as a result of obamacare

We're going to see more and more doctors taking cash only. Can't blame them really. Insurance is a big headache from hell. I'm happy to pay cash for my primary care physician. In and out at $75.00 for great care. No co-pays or hidden costs mandated by my insurance company. It's the best way to go.

I see a pain management doctor every month. He has basically had similar feelings.

No doctor will want to touch medicare patients now. Luckily I have good insurance through my work.

I saw him today actually. He was more depressed than I've ever seen them and was talking about hope for Texas seceding. I don't know that he'll be sticking around once Obamacare is fully implemented. I honestly don't blame him.
