Quoting: Doommincus Maximus No, people with insurance get their insurance company billed, and are usually responsible for a co-pay amount (i.e. $100 for a Emergency room visit) What if you are severly injured or dying and you dont have enough money to pay them, what happens, or do you have to pay first. No. ALL people with any life threatening condition are treated and stabilized REGARDLESS of their ability to pay. It's the law in all 50 states. The liberal media, and propaganda experts, have deluded some people into believing that the 7.4% of the population that have no insurance are denied treatment for serious conditions...it's not only false, it's against the law. Between private insurance, medicaid (state free health insurance), medicare (federal free insurance for the elderly), special state-sponsored child care programs, and other community and charity health programs, their are an estimated 7.4% of the population that have no coverage at all....not the 30-35% that the liberals have been spewing. I'm keen to understand how the system works now, and what affect this new system will have, could someone explain for me please. Answers to your questions highlighted in RED above. |

Quoting: Fizarak No doctor will want to touch medicare patients now. Luckily I have good insurance through my work. I saw him today actually. He was more depressed than I've ever seen them and was talking about hope for Texas seceding. I don't know that he'll be sticking around once Obamacare is fully implemented. I honestly don't blame him. Christ you people are fucking retarded. |

That physician reports that a survey (reputable) revealed that over *one third* of doctors are seriously considering shutting down. They will end up being forced to work for .gov, at whatever rate of pay the .gov decides they should make. Have you forgotten that the bill lets the .gov have access to your bank accounts?? I bet you have........ |

She is beside herself. Now that the final nail has been driven into the US medical industry it's hit her hard. Quoting: N3m3s1s Main issue for doctors is that they are being mandated too and regulated like never before. Most of Obamacare focuses on regulations, not the patient. That's what most people don't get. It's all about reporting back to the government. They will be determining your treatments and watching every facet of your "care". This is scary. Take some time and dissect the bill. It's a whopper, makes our tax code look like 1st grade reading. Dear N3m3s1s We need to be aware that now that Obama has been re elected that every hate filled, destructive, clueless, resentful, jealous, pseudo civilized jerk will be basking in this faux victory. Try not to take these abusiveness coments personally. They literally can't help themselves. |

What do you think the HMO's and insurance companies have been doing for decades?! Insuring people, paying doctors, not governmental bureaucracy...if you ever work in any type (local, state, or federal government) you will rapidly change your mind about wanting government in any aspect of your life. Insurance is government enforced. Why do you think medical care is so expensive? They lobbied the government - nixon - a republican - hard for HMO's. Learn your history. I've worked in healthcare for the last 4 years in 3 different capacities and have witnessed various aspects of what Obamacare is and will be. One of the the first things was "Meaningful Use". In short, you and I got to pay medical providers to get up to speed with Electronic Medical Records (EMR), to the tune of $18,000 per year, per physician that complied. There are many microcosms within "Meaningful Use". It forces providers to completely change how they see patients. There are dozens and dozens of "measures" that must be met, all adding up to a big pain in the ass for doctors. Meaningful Use is mandatory for any physician that wishes to accept Medicare. Guess what? Thousands of doctors are bailing on Medicare because it isn't worth the bullshit. They simply won't take Medicare any longer. Secondly, by the time the "Cadillac" rule kicks in, about 60% of the policies out there are going to fall under that stupid fucking rule. Basically, it punishes you and me for having a real job with real benefits that we earned because we actually possess a viable skill. All "Cadillac" health plans will be hit with a 40% tax. The law passed in 2009 and they set the ceiling at that time. It doesn't actually take effect until 2019 and doesn't account for inflation. By the time it takes effect, it's going to hit a hell of a lot more people that the "Goldman Sachs" executives it was supposedly meant to target. Tell me, all of you Obamabots; where the fuck is your free insurance from this plan? How's that workin' out for ya? Thus far, I have yet to see health insurance availability increase from this pile of shit tax-bag. Get ready for 4 more years of a dried corn cob up your ass because that's all this clown has to offer. I only believe half of what I read and even half of that is bullshit. |

The care was immediate and no payment was discussed by any RN or Doctor. Not sure where you're getting your info. By law, care has to be provided and a great majority of folks here get free med care. I worked in a hosp for 15 yrs and know this for a fact. Also, the great majority of health facilities will allow low payments. My sis and her entire family are on welfare and free medical care because they refuse to support themselves. |
