Re: My sister called me today, she's a doctor.
Do you really have to pay cash to get fixed in the hospital in America.

No, people with insurance get their insurance company billed, and are usually responsible for a co-pay amount (i.e. $100 for a Emergency room visit)

What if you are severly injured or dying and you dont have enough money to pay them, what happens, or do you have to pay first.

No. ALL people with any life threatening condition are treated and stabilized REGARDLESS of their ability to pay. It's the law in all 50 states.

The liberal media, and propaganda experts, have deluded some people into believing that the 7.4% of the population that have no insurance are denied treatment for serious conditions...it's not only false, it's against the law.

Between private insurance, medicaid (state free health insurance), medicare (federal free insurance for the elderly), special state-sponsored child care programs, and other community and charity health programs, their are an estimated 7.4% of the population that have no coverage at all....not the 30-35% that the liberals have been spewing.

I'm keen to understand how the system works now, and what affect this new system will have, could someone explain for me please.

Re: My sister called me today, she's a doctor.
I see a pain management doctor every month. He has basically had similar feelings.

No doctor will want to touch medicare patients now. Luckily I have good insurance through my work.

I saw him today actually. He was more depressed than I've ever seen them and was talking about hope for Texas seceding. I don't know that he'll be sticking around once Obamacare is fully implemented. I honestly don't blame him.

Re: My sister called me today, she's a doctor.
There is a local doctor who has been very vocal about what's coming with Obamacare. That physician reports that a survey (reputable) revealed that over *one third* of doctors are seriously considering shutting down. They will end up being forced to work for .gov, at whatever rate of pay the .gov decides they should make.

Have you forgotten that the bill lets the .gov have access to your bank accounts??

I bet you have........

I'm not totally sure of the big picture as much as she is but she is worried about the quality of care that people will get. There are issues with bringing new patients into a practice and the paperwork is excessive to say the least.

Yes, the US has graduated some of the finest Doctors in the world, at a price for them. We have all benefitted from their willingness to forge through years of education, only to finally graduate with a student loan beyond what most make in their lives, but they finally get to reap the benefits of their years of persistance to arrive where there is a payoff.
Who in their right mind would deny them the payoff? Everyone has benefitted from their dedication, the whole world for that matter.

Welcome your new Doctor from Yemen or jamaica, recently graduated on US tax dollars, by the "UN Global Managed Health Care Systems" -language barrier true, but hey, live or die, you did get to see the Doctor, thanks to socialized medicine.

My sister is a doctor (OB), she called me today and said she had been crying since last night. She is beside herself. Now that the final nail has been driven into the US medical industry it's hit her hard.
Main issue for doctors is that they are being mandated too and regulated like never before. Most of Obamacare focuses on regulations, not the patient. That's what most people don't get. It's all about reporting back to the government. They will be determining your treatments and watching every facet of your "care".

I've worked in healthcare for the last 4 years in 3 different capacities and have witnessed various aspects of what Obamacare is and will be.

One of the the first things was "Meaningful Use". In short, you and I got to pay medical providers to get up to speed with Electronic Medical Records (EMR), to the tune of $18,000 per year, per physician that complied. There are many microcosms within "Meaningful Use". It forces providers to completely change how they see patients. There are dozens and dozens of "measures" that must be met, all adding up to a big pain in the ass for doctors. Meaningful Use is mandatory for any physician that wishes to accept Medicare. Guess what? Thousands of doctors are bailing on Medicare because it isn't worth the bullshit. They simply won't take Medicare any longer.

Secondly, by the time the "Cadillac" rule kicks in, about 60% of the policies out there are going to fall under that stupid fucking rule. Basically, it punishes you and me for having a real job with real benefits that we earned because we actually possess a viable skill. All "Cadillac" health plans will be hit with a 40% tax. The law passed in 2009 and they set the ceiling at that time. It doesn't actually take effect until 2019 and doesn't account for inflation. By the time it takes effect, it's going to hit a hell of a lot more people that the "Goldman Sachs" executives it was supposedly meant to target.

Tell me, all of you Obamabots; where the fuck is your free insurance from this plan? How's that workin' out for ya? Thus far, I have yet to see health insurance availability increase from this pile of shit tax-bag. Get ready for 4 more years of a dried corn cob up your ass because that's all this clown has to offer.
I only believe half of what I read and even half of that is bullshit.

Do you really have to pay cash to get fixed in the hospital in America.

What if you are severly injured or dying and you dont have enough money to pay them, what happens, or do you have to pay first.

I'm keen to understand how the system works now, and what affect this new system will have, could someone explain for me please.

not true. I've had several emergency room visits with my sons and ran through the door asking for help. One with severe resp distress and one with meningitis. The care was immediate and no payment was discussed by any RN or Doctor. Not sure where you're getting your info. By law, care has to be provided and a great majority of folks here get free med care. I worked in a hosp for 15 yrs and know this for a fact. Also, the great majority of health facilities will allow low payments. My sis and her entire family are on welfare and free medical care because they refuse to support themselves.

Yeah, seems $250K is the global cutoff point for "rich"...whether in the UK, Europe or elsewhere, they settle on that magic number

No doubt some global think tank like Davos came up with that and said the sheeple shall make no more than $250K lest they manage to accumulate enough wealth to start a business to compete with the approved ones from sanctioned donors, or somehow manage to escape their clutches

watch as costs of living in places where you can earn that kind of money keep soaring just enough to make sure every dime made goes in taxes, rent and utilities

the PTB want a new feudal age, where we are allowed just enough to pay for a roof over our head, some moronic entertainment and food...but nothing more

everyone dependent on the government teat and unable to pay the exit tax to move to someplace less restrictive (if any are allowed to exist)

hell coming into full focus, by 2020 is my guess

welcome to the funhouse

Well since you are trying to copy Sweden, here you have to wait for years for surgery unless it's vital.

In ERs you have to wait for hours.

Also you will get many unqualified doctors to fill up those that will quit, usually foreigners that don't even speak your language.

It's downhill for you from here, that's socialism, rotting you from the outside and from the inside.
