Re: My sister called me today, she's a doctor.
My sister is a doctor (OB), she called me today and said she had been crying since last night. She is beside herself. Now that the final nail has been driven into the US medical industry it's hit her hard.
Main issue for doctors is that they are being mandated too and regulated like never before. Most of Obamacare focuses on regulations, not the patient. That's what most people don't get. It's all about reporting back to the government. They will be determining your treatments and watching every facet of your "care".
This is scary. Take some time and dissect the bill. It's a whopper, makes our tax code look like 1st grade reading.

Where has your ignorant sister been??? What do you think the HMO's and insurance companies have been doing for decades?!

Honestly, your insurance companies have been doing this crap for yrs..they tell the Drs what tests they will or will not pay for and what things they have to do before they will allow MRI or CAT scans etc..so in a sense it has been going on for yrs.

We're going to see more and more doctors taking cash only. Can't blame them really. Insurance is a big headache from hell. I'm happy to pay cash for my primary care physician. In and out at $75.00 for great care. No co-pays or hidden costs mandated by my insurance company. It's the best way to go.

 Quoting: MC Sqiggily D

Much longer wait times to begin with.

Doctors in my office ...well We used to be able to see patients every 20 minutes.

Now it takes over 40 because of the government mandated EMR (Electronic Medical Record)

This software is linked back so they know exactly what you are doing, what you are planning and the complete history of the patient.

Since we can only see 1/2 the patients we used to see, we have to charge more to cover the costs.

First off the EMR was over 500,000 dollars. Then the hardware was over 120,000.

Then the licenses and everything....well lets put it this way, it costs a lot.

So back to the patient. Your chances of seeing a doctor in time are less.

Meaning if you have a tumor and you cannot be seen because you could not be scheduled to see a specialist in time to detect the tumor, you are in deep shit.

We can see 1/2 the patients and pretty much stopped taking medicare. It costs us money to see medicare patients. We cannot pay for the EMR, Lights, front staff, medical malpractice insurance, nurses, feed or familes and see patients for free.

I've witnessed many doctors retiring early. It's not worth it. There will be less doctors willing to deal with the bullshit and low pay.

When you have to go to school for 10 years you wrack up a lot of student debt. Doctors need to make money at a certain level to survive.

Since they are branded as rich and evil by this administration nobody is going to give a shit until they cannot get help. Only then it will be too late. You will be given a timeline to die and sent home because your tumor was discovered too late.

Free Healthcare is not free. Nothing is free.

There are unintended consequences to everything.

I wish this country good luck.

wondering if the doctors and nurses will have to be mirco chipped also.

what if they refuse to take the "mark"?

will they be stripped of their doctorates?

will their chosen profession be ripped from them?

Re: My sister called me today, she's a doctor.
The coming Obamacare rationing

One of the major fears Americans have with regards to the impending regulations of the Affordable Care Act is the formation of death panels. Even though no such panels exist so far, the fact remains there will be significant rationing of health care resources at all levels.

One method is through the implementation of the “complete lives system.” This model was described in an article in The Lancet, co-authored by Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel, brother of Rahm Emanuel and former special adviser for health policy to the director of the White House Office of Management and Budget. Like Goldilocks in her visit to the bears, an American seeking treatment in the future will have to fall into the “just right” category in order to receive care.

The “complete lives system” is based on age and how productive the person will be to benefit the state. The chance of a patient receiving treatment or a procedure increases if that patient is between the ages of 15 and 50. The only patients receiving treatment will be the ones fitting into the proper age group, the ones who are “just right.”

Do you really have to pay cash to get fixed in the hospital in America.

What if you are severly injured or dying and you dont have enough money to pay them, what happens, or do you have to pay first.

I'm keen to understand how the system works now, and what affect this new system will have, could someone explain for me please.

No. You can go into the ER and they take care of you, if you need surgery you will get it. You are then billed, they will set up payment plans for you.

We have all benefitted from their willingness to forge through years of education, only to finally graduate with a student loan beyond what most make in their lives, but they finally get to reap the benefits of their years of persistance to arrive where there is a payoff.
Who in their right mind would deny them the payoff? Everyone has benefitted from their dedication, the whole world for that matter.

Most have a questionnaire that you are asked, including questions such as "Do you own a gun?", if yes, they then want to know if it is locked up, where it is, if there are children in the house and if you ever felt suicidal.
I know this for a Fact because it happened to me a couple of weeks ago.
