Quoting: Anonymous Coward 11758031 My favorite parts about this statement, is that you are too stupid to realize that the best doctors make the most money. Which means, it would no longer be profitable for them to continue their practice. Instead of experienced, good doctors, you are going to get useless pile of worthless shit, running around in lab coast working for bottom fucking dollar. I hope you get sick as hell, admitted to a hospital, then accidentally given a lethal dose of some insanely painful medication, all because you opted for fast food medicine. I'm keen to understand how the system works now, and what affect this new system will have, could someone explain for me please. No. You can go into the ER and they take care of you, if you need surgery you will get it. You are then billed, they will set up payment plans for you. You don't know SHIT about ER's and health care. You stupid fuck, hospitals treat indigent patients on a daily basis. Ability to pay is irrelevant. Emergent patients are NOT turned away. Anonymous Coward User ID: 26453199 Australia 11/07/2012 10:55 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | My sister is a doctor (OB), she called me today and said she had been crying since last night. She is beside herself. Now that the final nail has been driven into the US medical industry it's hit her hard. Quoting: N3m3s1s Main issue for doctors is that they are being mandated too and regulated like never before. Most of Obamacare focuses on regulations, not the patient. That's what most people don't get. It's all about reporting back to the government. They will be determining your treatments and watching every facet of your "care". This is scary. Take some time and dissect the bill. It's a whopper, makes our tax code look like 1st grade reading. Where has your ignorant sister been??? What do you think the HMO's and insurance companies have been doing for decades?! exactly.... |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 26085824 United States 11/07/2012 10:55 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The problem is not the insurance companies, as much as liberals like to say that. One problem is tort laws that allow lawsuit for ridiculous things. If a doctor has a patient with a pain, and 99% of the time it can be diagnosed with simple procedures, but there is an infinitesimal chance the procedure might miss something, they send them on to the cat scan or MRI to avoid a potentially devastating lawsuit. This often costs the insurance company thousands of dollars. Obama stated early on he was against tort reform, because lawyers contribute heavily to the Dems. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 26085824 Another problem is the welfare people that check in with "stomach pains" to get a clean bed, color TV with remote, free drugs, and three squares a day. Dozens did this on a regular basis at his hospital in a major city. It costs tax payers tens of thousands every day. The final problem is that Medicare sets the standards that all doctors have to comply with. My oldest son is in his second year of residency. They are literally working him to death. He was a great kid, Eagle Scout, worked 40 hour weeks while going to college. Graduated college in three years. In his first year of residency he saw the truth. In his internal medicine rotation he could see one patient every 30 minutes. 7-8 minutes seeing the patient, 20 minutes filling out redundant forms, required everywhere because of Medicare standards. He has 200,000 of med school debt, and now his future is being stripped from him by obamacare. I highly advise potential premeds to think twice about going to med school. Mountains of debt, delayed income, then a mountain of government regulations, now obamacare. I don't write this for the hard headed liberals on here. I write this for the real people who live in the real world, that really want to understand the problems. No liberal tried to refute my post, so I'll bump it. Maybe at least one of them is open minded enough to learn something from some who has actually heard first hand what is going on. |

Most doctors hate people who ask questions, they actively work to deny the fact that there are often safe alternatives, they have no compunction about prescribing drugs they KNOW are dangerous just so they can get their country club kickbacks, they push treatments on people knowing full well they will not be helped, and it is in THEIR best interest for everyone to remain borderline sick/healthy. Whining and crying doctors? Boo-frigging-hoo. |

We allow companies to profit by managing the payments to our health care service providers. They increase there potential risk articificially by allowing them using shell companies that appear to be independent while they are actually owned by related parties. In the end, they increase their profits to meet shareholder expectations by increasing rates or denying service. No one would voluntarily pick this system but most don't know how it really works. |

Specialists and surgeons deserve even more. Don't be angry because flipping burgers hasn't paid off for you. Besides, if your loved one (or YOU for that matter) need to have brain surgery or heart surgery or even a tonsillectomy, how comfortable would you be in discovering that your prospective surgeon just graduated from community college? Or was a minimum-wage "rent-a-doc", comparable to the minimum-wage "rent-a-cops" who patrol the Malls? Personally, I'd much prefer the doctor who graduated magna cum laude after 12 - 15 years of medical schooling! Of course, with Obamacare, we'll all pbe getting those rent-a-docs straight off the boat from Haiti...... Quoting: Anonymous Coward 22168369 Many Doctors that have a practice in TJ, also have their main practice in San Diego. They are well educated receiving their docorate fromt Ivy league schools and doing their residencies at hospitals like Cedar Sinai in LA. The care is excellent, though you have to pay cash. The meds are 1/8 of the cost you'd pay in the US, due to big pharma jack. A friend of mine gets her husbands heart meds in TJ (pays $60.00) for a three month supply, in SoCal, the cost is ($500.00) for a 30 day supply). I know many people that cross the border for excellent medical care and pay cash, having already checked the credentials of the Doctor from their San Diego practice. Though, you cannot sue if you get fucked up. |
