... You stupid fuck, hospitals treat indigent patients on a daily basis. Ability to pay is irrelevant. Emergent patients are NOT turned away. Quoting: Debauchery You are the stupid fuck. ER's are NOT a substitute for a real healthcare system. Plus charges are significantly more expensive. Finally, the cost for those that can't pay are passed on to the rest of us. He ASKED how it works here, He wanted to know if people are turned away if they are dying. I told him how it worked for poor people that needed emergency medical treatment but couldn't pay for it. Also informed him that you don't have to pay upfront to receive emergency treatment. It's a fact. What's your issue? I wasn't advocating for people to just stroll into an ER for a cold, jack up a large bill and force taxpayers to handle it. Calm the fuck down. Yeah, Romney tried pedaling that shit, too. Those of us who work are paying for the poor...just at a premium. The Right's fight of Socialized medicine is stupid and hurtful. Seems that my costs are going up, not down, under the "Affordable Care Act". So that premium isn't as expensive as all the other shit that I have to drag around and pay for thru Obamacare, so that I can get care too.
