People are just hooked on doom. They don't understand that the ring of fire is the most active tectonic area in the world, and has been firing off earthquakes and volcanoes of this magnitude (and even more powerful) for a billion years. It's best to just let the uneducated panic, it seems to give their life at least one purpose.

Your prior comment alluding to the frequency of 6+ magnitude quakes per year does not address WHERE the quakes are occurring. Wouldn't you agree it's important to also analyze where the quakes are occurring as opposed to just monitoring the frequency without regard for location? A 6.0 in California is a heck of a lot different than a 6.0 in Indonesia, ya know? If a certain area is 'heating up', then it's important to keep an eye on that region regardless of the 'normal' frequency of quakes in any particular range of magnitude. I understand where you're coming from and appreciate the legitimate response but take into consideration that this is along the ring of fire. Hence why im taking this lightly. Ive been on this site far too long to take everything as doom.
