NO, Soon in America it will cost $200 to see a doctor, after a 6 month wait. But you will be able to see a Physicians Assistant for $60 and only have to wait 3 months.
Now a prescription is a whole different thing, if you want to add on on those, add $50 to the bill.
So will be Heath Care in America, VERY SOON.
Doctors will be opting out of taking Medicare and Medicaid patients. Only second rate doctors will be taking those patients. So much for keeping your Doctor!

Hearing the prices they pay in America just to see the Doctor is horrendous.

you could use it to pay all the catch up tax after bushs cuts are gone in janurary.

I have full health insurance, and for me to see a 'Western' doctor, they would charge about $80-100 for a consultation.

I recently chose to by-pass the form-filling as it's a hassle and see a local doctor - young, well educated, skilled - who remedied the ailment almost immediately.

Consultation fee? $1.70.

I don't know about anyone else without insurance...

But I don't pay much more than this for regular routine visits right now.

Obviously if some kind of inpatient surgical procedure needs to be done or tests or whatever, that costs money, but just going to the doctor and getting a prescription or physical or whatever does not cost much more than this already.

Frankly if you really wanted to lower costs you would make much of the equipment and machines that are only available to those with physicians licenses registered with the FDA available to anyone who can afford them. Also, all non-addictive/marcotic/opiate medications should be available without prescription.

Its crazy how much they charge over in your country...It cost me nothing for when i had to get a colonoscopy, imagine that over there..probably an arm and a leg.

Take insurance out of the equation and your heath costs will fall.

another thing medicare does is free up courts from medical cases.

our drs are bound by oath to treat people and turn no one away,they were legally liable. before medicare it resulted in them charging a small fortune for a few minutes attention or being sued for lack of attention, and ended up in court most of the time.

the kicker that got it through was the cost of the court cases and their clogging of the legal system was getting close to the government funding health care instead.

...I was paying $15 co-pay on Doc visits thru my private insurance..so my cost goes up 30% and I should thank who ?...all medical devices have a new TAX which must be paid by somebody...I wonder who that will be...all homes sold over $250k have a 3.8% tax...there are 100's billions in new taxes...all to raise my Doc visit by 30%?...and this is good because ?...I am sorry I can add and subtract and have mastered basic math...this is a ripoff nightmare...making pre existing conditions be covered and being able to carry the kids on your policy is good...but that took have a page to write, I wonder what's in the other 2499 pages of the law?...Well we don't know because 2 years after being passed
the regulations have not been written for "most" of the bill...yea, good intentions can makes very bad law with horrible unintended consequences.
