The banks weren't 'nationalised' (ie the govt 'pays' for bank shares)... rather they were put into bankruptcy receivership in Iceland - or in other words, Iceland oversaw and orderly winding down of the banks...

Cenk is dead wrong to say that he and Krugman are right and that the banks should've been nationalised... and point to Iceland to show how they're right.... Apart from the fact THAT NEVER ACTUALLY HAPPENED IN ICELAND... the banks were put into receivership.... NOT nationalised - MASSIVE difference

But, don't let the truth get in the way over your statest propaganda eh Cenk?

If compound interest was declared illegal, and simple interest was made the norm, all people and all countries could prosper again.

If you think about it, why is it that 90%+ of our loan payments goes toward interest in the first part of the loan. The banks are getting the money for almost 0# interest. If the interest on a loan were divide equally and evenly over the life of a loan, the equity in our investments would build up more quickly and the economy would improve dramatically almost overnight.

Cenk is a filthy Turk. The fact that he walks in Western land unmolested and upright is an insult to our dignity.
