My sister lives 219 miles West of Grand Bayou in Dallas, TX.
My parents live 382 miles East of Grand Bayou in Meridian, MS.

500 mile evacuation zone, they say.

a 500 mile zone takes this event well up into the New Madrid Fault Line territory. That's massive.

Texas brine is paying all evacuees a weekly amount, I can't remember off hand how much that is.

Think it was $875??

Does any one here know what the radius would be if all that gas escaped at once through some giant blow out? How many folks should be evacuated? If they don't evacuate, what you figure the death toll could be from suffocation and or flash burn?

Read this statement;

Notice how they mention "low pressure" but fail to tell us that the pressure, how ever low it is right now, is building up to higher pressure levels.

What an Idiot. Does it have to be on the news for you to believe it. Its in their local papers. They are keeping it there. If they make this Mainstream people would start to panic and draw alot more attention to somthing they don't want people talking about.

He's worried about the New Madrid getting a nudge from this situation. Take a look at a map. Where do you run to get out if everybody else is doing the same thing. Thats what he was referring too. Being down there wedged in between the Salton Sea and the mexican Baja and then all those people running towards that area when my family would have to go against the flow to get out.

They didn't say that. My Dad thinks thats where it should be. Thats also worst case senario also. The lake 60 miles away from the sinkhole is now bubbleing with Methane. There is gas coming up all over the place. Gas travels and takes the path of least resistance. Thats a big field under there. So 500 miles is what that field encompasses. Get out a map. A map of the field and have a look at it. Then you decide whats safe.

Another thing to consider is all the pipelines in the area for hundreds of miles. Cascade effects. The potential for trouble on many different levels is there.

Then there's The New Madrid Fault.
