Corps actually employ people and actually contribute to this country. People sitting on their asses collecting welfare don't contribute shit. Kind of easy to understand unless you're a retard liberal.

A lot of you people here on GLP seem to think people on welfare(the vets, the disabled, the old, people who make under 20k) are the problem. But there is no outrage or anger for the companies who make billions yet find ways to stick their hands in the pot. When you come one here and make threads about people who receive "handouts" when most of them actually need all the help they can get but fail to mention companies who exploit gov assistants you look like a bunch of selective problem solving hypocrite. How can you sit behind your screen and bash these people yet turn the other way at the real problem. Its like the cop who would rather chase down someone peeing in an ally instead of the guy mugging down the street.

We need to do better.

OP it is not our issue if you and every one on welfare didnt save enough money for when they got old.. or do drugs and have kids and can't afford to take care of them stop ebing lazy get a job and work .. if not starve or freeze.. we are better off with out them!

Are you going to help with the clean up?

Re: Why do you have a problem with people receiving GOV assistants but not corporations?
When food stamps were first expanded nationally in the 1970s, just 1 in 50 Americans participated; today the figure is almost 1 in 7. The program has doubled in size since 2008 and quadrupled since 2001.
Food stamps are one of nearly 80 means-tested federal welfare programs, including 17 for nutritional support. Collectively, these programs cost $700 billion annually, plus $200 billion in state contributions.
From 2001 to 2006 the food stamp budget doubled, even as unemployment remained around five percent.
Food stamps make up 80 percent of the current farm bill, costing $770 billion over the next 10 years.
Food stamp spending is projected to remain permanently and significantly above pre-recession levels.
Were food stamp spending returned to pre-recession (2007) levels, and increased at the rate of inflation, it would produce 10-year savings of $340 billion. The current farm bill calls for only $4 billion in savings.
The rapid increase in assistance is remarkably similar to the rapid decrease in the ratio of workers to Social Security/Medicare recipients, and itís just as unsustainable. Itís also a demonstration of how absurd the program has become. We are the wealthiest nation on Earth, and yet 1 in 7 Americans have to get food assistance? More than 40% of us donít pay federal income taxes, which means the burden of these costs fall on fewer and fewer Americans as well ó about 4 in 7, if that. That kind of ratio will lead us to the same entitlement crunch weíre already barreling toward with Social Security and Medicare

So we have $770 billion dollars in food stamp programs alone, that's upwards of a trillion dollars in that one program alone.

It's unsustainable. No way around that.

Recipients have DOUBLED in size since Obama took office.

Have you actually seen how some of these people live on welfare?

It's no vacation, they just learn to live really cheaply.

It's the welfare laws that allow it, they just found a way to jump through loopholes.

Sound familiar?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 27305279

Yes, I have. Getting rent assistance from HUD after putting their car in their kids' name, they live better than I do! Eat out more often, have total free time and full medical coverage. Meanwhile some months I have to skip my more expensive prescriptions because I can't afford them while I pay taxes for these people who live better a better lifestyle than I can afford for myself.

And yes, some people live in squalor but I think it has more to do with how they manage the government aid and other factors such as where they live.

I know people that pay 10 dollars a month for electricity and another 10 for gas...all year long for years. That's it. The only way to get on these programs is to be destitute and jobless. So, they make themselves destitute to get the benefits because working for minimum wage is almost impossible these days. They have a better, freer life on welfare. Not necessarily a better way of life.

On the side, they find other things to do such as fix cars or clean house for cash and don't pay any taxes to this crooked fucking government o spend on war and death.

I really don't see the problem here IF it's the collapse of this government that we are all seeking.

Corporate welfareís sole redeeming quality, to the extent it has any, is its relative size. Washington ladles out about $100 billion a year in handouts to the undeserving rich. That is a minute fraction of federal outlays for social welfare (Medicare alone will cost more than $670 billion this year). But it is still roughly $100 billion too much.

The federal government has authority to regulate interstate commerce and national defense. Everything else is just a money scam against the people. Link??? I don't necessarily doubt it but would like to see it and know under what in the budget this is listed as there doesn't seem to be all that much unaccounted for.

You need a link?

The public numbers were around what, 17 trillion?

That is a VERY conservative number.

They've stolen everything, these people on welfare have given up, they just don't give a fuck about a government that doesn't give a fuck about them.

Makes sense to me. 1dunno1

Yes, I do because I can't find where in the federal spending these "trillions" are. It's very clear, however, where the entitlements are.

Notice that well over HALF of federal spending goes for entitlement programs.

Now you're just being ridiculous.

Stop.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 27305279

Did you look at the link? That is what the Congressional Budget Office report says.

We spend 20 Trillion dollars on entitlement and social programps, about 60-70% of ALL federal expenditures.

It's not what I say, it's what the records at the CBO says!

It's a FACT.
One of the most important aspects of conspiracy theories is being able to discern when there isn't one.

Oh yeah, like you'd understand anyway.

Re: Why do you have a problem with people receiving GOV assistants but not corporations?
Any real conservative has problems with welfare for anyone, be it for certain groups of people or big corporations/banks. I only skimmed the first page but some people still think big oil companies get subsidies from the US government. Big oil companies take advantage of tax loopholes to keep more of their own money, which does not equate to government giving them taxpayer money (therefore, it isn't a subsidy).

The problem with welfare is that it encourages laziness and steals from others. The best welfare program is a good paying job and to get one of those you need either a college education or special skill set that is desired by the market. America needs to get back to being the land of opportunity. If we didn't have so many regulations and high levels of taxation, jobs would come flooding back in to America.

If we didn't have so much government spending (welfare, warfare, useless alphabet agencies) we could have much lower taxes and people would be more generous with their money, because they would get to keep more of what they earned, instead of having their money confiscated by the government that wastes taxpayer money on bad business models, bombing children in the middle east and giving bankers bonuses.

Re: Why do you have a problem with people receiving GOV assistants but not corporations?

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 4496880

'WE' need to do better???? How about the fucking govt. do better? 'WE' can only do so much. 'WE' try to vote out the bad ones but, corruption keeps them in office.

What would your suggestion be for - "we need to do better?"

I am sooo f-in sick of people saying that "the vets, the disabled, the old" are the blood suckers on welfare!!!!! B-f-n-S!!

Its all too obvious who the tit suckers are. It only takes one viewing of Maury Povich to know who the users and abusers of welfare are.

We all know who Romney was refering to when he said 47% but, the f-n Dems take that statement and pretend that he meant 'the vets, the disabled and the old"....

Americas government is a bigger horse and pony show than P.T. Barnum could ever dream of.

This country is in serious trouble and I can't wait for it to be the fuck over with.

You're also trying to include ALL entitlement programs in a thread talking about a VERY small percentage of those programs.

Nice try.

Stick to the topic please.

You have to just love these corporate sycophants that defend corporate control/fascism.

Too big to fail, private mercenary protected, slave-wage inducing entities funding the complete sell-out of government [Citizen United].

It is a fascist sell-out and people like this poster, will do anything to spin reality.

Not at all. What I do NOT want is people being totally subsidized by the government living BETTER than I do while I have to work and pay taxes and they do not do either of those things.

I really want us ALL to play by the same rules as Obama says.

Don't we all? I moved out in the country a few years ago. It's 96% white and the poorest county in the state, right next to the wealthiest. These people are not happy about this situation at all. Banks and farming corporations fueled with multi million dollar subsidies have crushed these people.

The 3 factories that were here were crushed by subdudies to corporations who choose to buy from Chinese factories. Most of these jobs were .50 to a dollar over min wage. So, corporate subsidies have harmed many Americans.

And lastly, we can all agree that this country has serious financial problems, but take a look at broke ass Obamaphone lady. Does that broke ass bitch look like she has any influence to move the economy?
The people at the top created this mess.
Everyone knows shit flows downhill and people smell that and think thats were it came from. No, not really, it just flowed down there.
