I was on food stamps once, for a short time. It was only enough to buy oatmeal, peanut butter, rice, beans, mac & cheese, and once a week a can of salmon or tuna fish, if you were lucky. Not exactly eating high on the hog, like the corporate welfare queens do. More like leftover chitlins.

Don't mix up the ideas so that you can come up with something false, please. I'm glad you were able to get food stamps. I've heard that in my county, it's quite hard if you're white, they will lose your application or something will happen. Always question, before supporting a social program, whether you or your family could actually get it if you needed it. Charity for those in need is one thing. Transfer payments to those who've got the system working for them is quite another.
