Stacking Cases of Motor Oil?
Everyone here talks about stacking food, ammo, gold, but what about cases of motor oil? If the price of crude oil skyrockets would this not be a good way to invest and make money by selling it to people?

Good way to stack physical oil. Good idea for those that dont want to put money in the oil stocks.

reasonable idea and the good thing is there is no worry about shelf life or expiration date.

Only in America... do we use the word 'politics' to describe the process so well: 'Poli' in Latin meaning 'many' and 'tics' meaning 'bloodsucking creatures'.~

Just save your used oil to lube farm machinery and to start fires...most people won't be concerned with changing their oil in emergency situations...

Used oil in two containers with cotton rope filters and cleans the oil. Maybe not be good for engines but really looks good and good for other lubricating needs. Google that process.

If stored in an unopened container, not too hot or cold it should be good for 5 years.

A barrel stove with a bucket of oil and a valve and small copper tube fed into it to slowly drip on some burning logs will preserve your firewood and make a super hot fire.

If you are planning on doing this be sure to stock up the most widely used type of moror oil which are 5w30 and 10w30. Good for raising quick cash and or bartering if needed.

do what you want, you will be considered a hoarder and all your stuff will be confiscated.

You dont get it, youre not supposed to survive. Youre not wanted to survive.
EO's have been signed that 'allow' the gummint to take anything that originates from the earth in general and oil products specifically.
You can buy them at the moment, but youre only buying them for uncle sugars confisction brigades.

I prefer polyethylene plastic wrap, burns clean, no stench, not carcinogenic or poisonous like used oil, and not difficult to store and you get if for free lots of places.
wrap it tight in a softbalkl sized bundle and put it in with the wood where the incoming airflow hits the wood.
Burns like a propane torch if you do it right
Burns hot and clean and even gets rid of the wood smoke and cleans the pipes

This works. A five gallon pail lasts about a day, but then how big your fire is also determines how long your used oil stash will last as well. Fiberglas cloth for a wick works great.

The adhesive on duct tape goes bad if stored at room temperature for a long time.

Shoes can be made pretty easily from old tires. These last a hell of a long time depending on how you do it.

There are many other things you
could stack that are smaller
and more shelf stable that
would rise in value much more.

Re: Stacking Cases of Motor Oil?
Hope you have lots of land to do that with. A barrel of oil is $85 (50 gallon barrel). Why don't you just stock silver coin instead ? One silver dollar coin is $35, and you can fit 40 of them in your pocket. When TSHTF, you can just buy the 2 quarts of oil from the other guy who is storing it. It's called a purchase, also referred to as bartering when physical commodities are involved.
