It looks like Blacks and Latinos equal about 30% of the vote, but what about the rest? Did Obama win on a high turnout or a low turnout?

Re: Was this election considered a "high" turnout, or a "low" turnout?
It was pretty low. It was a very polarized "base" election. With Obama being President for four years and not having the same superstar draw. The same on the the republican side, no superstar like Sarah Palin. Or maybe all the advertising and money spent on this one actually turned people off. It is also possible the hurricane sandy hurt the overall turnout, by driving down turnout in the northeast. Or maybe turnout was up in swing states, and down in the others. Im gonna study it in a couple of weeks, after all the results are in.

There was record high voter enthusiasm that somehow translated into near record turnout.

In other words, bullshit.

This is the best indication that the results in 2012 were total BS. You would expect the Democrat total to be less than 08 but certainly not the Republican turnout.

The Republicans were demoralized in 08 but were motivated to get rid of Obama this year. The whole thing is such obvious BS.

Re: Was this election considered a "high" turnout, or a "low" turnout?
Only about 50% of eligable citizens voted in this or any presidential election. So I guess 40% would be considered "high."
