By spring they will have had to make other arrangements. I don't know what's going on there. I thought all the utilites were almost restored. At least it's being reported that the vast majority of them are. Now I wonder just how many still don't have them. One of the most important aspects of conspiracy theories is being able to discern when there isn't one. Oh yeah, like you'd understand anyway. Staten Island is some of the most beautiful Real Estate in NY, NY... They've wanted to get rid of those "Middle Class" people to build Condo's down there for years... There are never enough resources to provide help, but always enough to inflict further harm on those struggling to survive or to help. "Sorry you can't bring that truck load of water bottles to New Orleans" Evacuating in the face of immediate life threatening disaster is one thing. But no one who is willing to live without electricity should be forced to evacuate. My grandmother didn't have electricity when younger. My grandfather bought her a radio, had to buy a windmill and battery so she could use it. They did just fine, she lived into her 90s. |

Ineptocracy- (in-ep-toc'-ra-cy) - a system of government where the least capable to lead are elected by the least capable of producing, and where the members of society least likely to sustain themselves or succeed, are rewarded with goods and services paid for by the confiscated wealth of a diminishing number of producers. |

They say its a safety/health issue. "What you have just said, is the most insanely idiotic thing I have ever heard. At no point, in your rambling incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points and may God have mercy on your soul." |

Quoting: Saddletramp They're kicking people out of their houses because they don't have utilities. One man on FOX said they were threatening to take people's children away from them because they are living in houses without Utilities... And Con-Ed and NY are taking their sweet time fixing those utilities. Why, because the real estate of Staten Island is way too valuable to be in the hands of a bunch of "Middle Class" people apparently, so they're gonna use this opportunity to steal that property. Look for some new beautiful condo's on Staten Island soon... AND, if people do leave their homes, they have no where to go, they closed FEMA centers for a couple of days because about 4 inches of snow... Katrina II?!?!? Because of 'No Utilities'??? That's just camping in a super strong tent! 'They' would be hard-pressed to get me out of my house for that reason. . . . --- We all breathe the same air |

I read a statistic a year or so ago quoted from a man who some head of an organization that helps the homeless.....he said that about 80 percent of homelessness was caused by utilities. I don't know how true or accurate that statement was, but it made me sick to my stomach all the same......:( |

They say its a safety/health issue. Quoting: General Troll, US Shillitary In my city, if you have your utilities shut off for 30 days or longer, your house has to be inspected by the city before you can get the utilities turned back on. They fail a lot of houses. When your house fails, you have to use one of the "lisenced city contractors" to do the work. Failure to comply gets your house condemmed and demolished. Also, there is an ordinance where you cannot have a window boarded up for longer than 7 days. Another gem is if a house is vacant for 1 year, even if there is NOTHING wrong with it, no code violations, the city has a right to tear it down. |
