I understand that trend but it still does not explain what happened in this election because we had statistics going into the election which do not predict the outcome.

All the polls which showed them neck and neck weighted dem side by 5 to 10 points for the big turnout of 2008. But the big dem turnout of 2008 did not happen. In fact, the stats tell us that 3 percent less dems voted in 2012 than voted in 2008. So those weighted polls that put Romney and Obama neck and neck were wrong from the get go.

Plus these polls did not contain the independent vote. The Independent vote was breaking in double digits for Romney, from 12 to 20 points.

Also, more Republicans voted in 2012 than in 2008. This is because hundreds of thousands of Evangelicals who sat home in 2008 came out in 2012, and also because there was much more enthusiasm reported among Republicans than Democrats this year.

So, when the polls are adjusted for these factors, Romney wins by landslide, just like Michael Barone predicted.

This tells the story of voter fraud to win.
