During the body’s rest, an entire work of cleansing and purification takes place. On its return, the soul finds the house cleaned and washed, and it can take up its work again. If the soul did not leave the body in this way, we would die from poisoning and asphyxiation, because the work of cleansing could not be done. You will say, ‘But why do we have these toxins and poisons?’ Because life is a combustion. All the physical, emotional and mental activities we know as ‘life’ produce a release of forces, but they also leave behind rubbish which takes a while to be eliminated. So it is necessary for the soul to withdraw from the body so the cleansing can take place. This is how nature has resolved the problem of life." It's why we sometimes wake up with a jerking of our bodies. The soul has no body, and isn't restricted to stay with that mass. This means the bed, the floor, the ceiling, etc doesn't keep it from going through. When we're traveling from wake to sleep, I think sometimes the brain senses the movement right when we're about to go to sleep, (the transition) and sends a quick and abrupt panic signal to the body. Many have observed it, and some say it's why we call it "falling" asleep. |

Do with me as you wish.’ And the next day check your thoughts, feelings and actions to see whether what you are doing really is the will of God and not the will of your lower nature. For it is not enough to say verbally that you give everything to God in the evening and then to give in to all your whims the following day. We came to the earth to participate in the work of creation. Jesus said, ‘My Father is still working, and I also am working.’ This work with God, for God, is the final word of initiation. Everything we give to God we raise to the level where he himself is. Then God repeats our gesture; he reflects it like a mirror reflecting a ray of light: we have given him everything, and he gives us everything." |

Yes, when we wake up in the morning, we are born on the physical plane, but we die on the astral plane. When we go to sleep at night, we die on the physical plane, but are born on the astral plane. In the same way, when a human being comes to earth, he is born here, but he dies in the other world: he is received here with cries of joy and music, but on the other side they attend his burial. Conversely, when a man dies here, he is accompanied to his grave by funeral marches, tears, and mourning clothes, while on the other side he is welcomed joyfully, and those who receive him exclaim: 'At last, he has returned!' Obviously, the person who has led the life of a criminal on earth does not receive such a warm welcome there. In the same way, it sometimes happens that certain children are not happily welcomed here by their parents. But these are special cases. The law itself remains implacable: what is life in one realm is death in another. What disappears here, appears elsewhere, and vice-versa." |

If you make efforts during the day to leave your prosaic, egocentric thoughts and feelings behind and rise to a more elevated, vaster plane, you will find favourable conditions for continuing this work in your sleep. When you go to sleep, your soul does not hover around your body but goes travelling through space to discover other worlds and their inhabitants. And when you awaken, even if you cannot recall everything you have seen and heard, these journeys leave profound traces in you which gradually transform your understanding." |

[link to www.youtube.com] Wednesday morning at five o'clock As the day begins Silently closing her bedroom door Leaving the note that she hoped would say more She goes downstairs to the kitchen clutching her handkerchief Quietly turning the back door key Stepping outside she is free She (We gave her most of our lives) Is leaving (Sacrificed most of our lives) Home (We gave her everything money could buy) She's leaving home after living alone for (Bye bye) So many years Father snores as his wife gets into her dressing gown Picks up the letter that's lying there Standing alone at the top of the stairs She breaks down and cries to her husband Daddy our baby's gone Why would she treat us so thoughtlessly? How could she do this to me? She (We never thought of ourselves) Is leaving (Never a thought for ourselves) Home (We struggled hard all our lives to get by) She's leaving home after living alone for (Bye bye) So many years Friday morning at nine o'clock she is far away Waiting to keep the appointment she made Meeting a man from the motor trade She (What did we do that was wrong?) Is having (We didn't know it was wrong) Fun (Fun is the one thing that money can't buy) Something inside that was always denied for (Bye bye) So many years She's leaving home (Bye bye) |
