Obviously, you didn't do so well in reading comprehension. I said: he was a democrat BEFORE he became a republican. So that would currently make him a republican. He changed his affiliation and ran as a republican because there were a ton of democrats in the mayoral race at that time.

This is so NOT TRUE. Look at the date in the story, it was written last March and this only applies to foods that are NOT properly labeled. They are not accepting home-cooked foods or foods that are not properly labeled with expiration dates at the shelters. As a safety precaution...makes sense to me.

I have been donating non-perishable foods and foods in their original wrappers for the past week at different shelters and no one has ever turned anything down. In fact, I just donated numerous cartons of Parmalat milk this afternoon to a shelter full of weather refugees..and they were deeply grateful.

You might want to consider making a donation to the Salvation Army if you really care....
