Message Subject Jesus was NOT the only begotten SON.

If people were capable of rational thought when it comes to religion, they would realize a story about a God who allows his son to be abused and killed and then rewards those who kill him with ever lasting life, is absolutely absurd.

What sense would that make?

Who in their right mind would worship a man who stood by and allowed his son to be butchered?

And the crowd said "kill him" so you can't go blaming the Jewish leaders. It was ordinary men who put him to death and laughed and jeered.

It was Christian people!

I don't think you could call anybody "Christians" until after Pentecost 33 CE, which is the birth of the Christian Congregation.

This is who wanted him to be sacrificed according to the Bible:
John 11:46 "but some of them went off to the Pharisees and told them the things Jesus did. 47 Consequently the chief priests and the Pharisees gathered the San′he·drin together and began to say: “What are we to do, because this man performs many signs? 48 If we let him alone this way, they will all put faith in him, and the Romans will come and take away both our place and our nation.” 49 But a certain one of them, Ca′ia·phas, who was high priest that year, said to them: “YOU do not know anything at all, 50 and YOU do not reason out that it is to YOUR benefit for one man to die in behalf of the people and not for the whole nation to be destroyed.”

How about this ,though?"51 This, though, he did not say of his own originality; but because he was high priest that year, he prophesied that Jesus was destined to die for the nation, 52 and not for the nation only, but in order that the children of God who are scattered about he might also gather together in one. 53 Therefore from that day on they took counsel to kill him."

No, long before that ...

John 1:29 John saw Jesus coming toward him the next day and said, Behold the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world.

The real reason for what amounts to a ritual sacrifice is hinted at below.

John 6:53 So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you.

Remember Jesus was the Lamb. In the Old Testament it is a real lamb which absolves sin but in the New Testament, Jesus.

I don't have to remember that Jesus was the Passover lamb, I already know that. Lamb didn't absolve sin, but made the angel of death pass over. This is the same thing Caiaphas and the other jewish religious leaders wanted to use him for, if you notice scriptures above. ["We have no king but Caesar!" The Romans were the only "angel of death" they were worried about, it seems.] Too late, though, I guess, because he'd already symbolically offered his flesh and blood, to the eleven remaining apostles on the correct date for the Passover meal- the night before, Nisan 14 Eve.
