Look who funds the anti-pot movement... The alcohol industry. It must suck there's a safer, natural way to alter your state of existence that doesn't encourage violence. I expect to see many paid posters attempting to shift the conversation since it's been legalized in two states. And the medical mj people, too, since it will cut into their profit margin. Truth is, after a year of full-on legalization people are going to be asking why it was ever illegal in the first place.

Okay...straight from the horses mouth. I used to believe the same negative things about pot. Then I smoked it (mid 1970's). Guess what? When I drove, I was far more cautious than even when sober. When I did toke too much, I looked for a comfortable place to lay down...and that's what everyone else who've gotten wasted does. That's definately not the case with alcohol...in fact, quite the opposite.
If someone got behind a wheel and killed a family it can't possibly be attributed solely to pot. She had be mixing pot and alcohol and/or drugs.
Anyway, don't believe me....do some honest, REAL research, for Pete's sake. I did, and I've found that this plant is the most beneficial plant there is to humankind. THAT'S why it's been made 'evil'. By your convoluted logic, making pot legal will encourage people to Reefer Madness. Most people that smoke pot are responsible and would never drive while impaired. This is not the case with alcohol. By your logic, we should ban any substance that has the potential to impair, like beer, nyquil, etc. You present a strawman argument, that people who drive on impaired on MJ wouldn't get the same penalty as those who drive impaired on other mind-altering substances. I am a medical marijuana patient (card carrying in two states) and a military veteran. I have chronic pain as well as glaucoma and a few other problems. My wife also suffers daily from chronic pain.

The V.A. can not give me a natural medicine that WORKS. Instead they want me to take PHARMACEUTICALS that KILL my liver and one of them lists the side effects as, "SUDDEN DEATH SYNDROME". I Don't fucking think so!

SO, my wife and I take "as needed" and will be moving to either Colorado or Washington as we moved to a state this past summer where there is no medical program and we deal with PAIN on a daily basis. We want to be functional and able to lead productive lives as we did before. SHAME on you for making marijuana out to be something BAD.

I hope you never have glaucoma or something that is CHRONICALLY painful, but I wish you could "see" and then would understand before you start judging others. Not EVERYONE abuses medicine.

Alcohol is a lot different in my opinion. It inhibits your ability to do anything tenfold more than marijuana does. Now I am sure there are certain variables you need to take into context ie. weight/tolerance etc.

If you want to actually discuss the reality of what 'legal' pot would do, then respond. Otherwise this thread is dead in the water rage cage.

I went to pick up my grandmothers subscriptions for her the other day.

My GOD, the amount of pills they try to cycle through the human body is terrifying.

I agree that if someone smokes, then drives they should be prosecuted the same as if drunk.

I think adults should have the right to smoke...but their right ends as soon as they get behind the wheel and put someone else's life in danger.

It is HORRIFYING! I have been talking to other "veterans" that are agreeing that there "IS" something to this sudden death lately in the Veterans Administration. I couldn't find one that was on anything less than four different scripts (and probably not necessary other than to make money btw).

The body can not handle that much at once and doctors/pharmacists make mistakes ALL the time. The earth provides us with SO much nourishment and medicine naturally and it is ashame that we do not USE it, but instead take synthetic JUNK that can KILL us.
