Or you mean when the suspects are armed and he dies shielding her? You anti gun idiots deserve to be deported. I was going to ignore the obvious ignoramus, but thanks for jumping in! I travel Monday - Friday at least 30 weeks a year... you can't always be there. |

I don't trust the .380's as a general rule, every one I ever owned jammed. Until this one. When we bought it, I took it home and fired 200 rounds through it. Not a single jam, and MUCH more accurate than I suspected it would be. AND it's fairly inexpensive |

If you really need a safe, consider this... [link to www.amazon.com] If this is for home defense and never for outside the home, consider a .410 with buckshot. Shotgun, not the judge. If it is a carry gun also, Then a compact pistol of some form is needed. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 22385389 No semi can do that without the potential of a jam from the purse liner. They make purses for women for a separate compartment in back that unzips for pistol. They come with and without holsters in them. I have only used mine a cpl times where I just couldnt conceal mine with certain clothes...that may be an option for her also they make holsters for the bra.Fits perfect in the middle of your boobs. I dont have one but a pregnant neighbor of mine does. Thank goodness my kids are grown and they both have their CCW as well as my parents and sisters. We grew up shooting so its an entire family thing for us...I think every American should carry esp. In this day and time..AND WOMEN...KNOW HOW TO PHYSICALLY PROTECT YOURSELF!!!! I am trained in Krav Maga and close combat training and recommend both. I spent years taking Tae Kwon Do and I would NOT recommended it for most women as your primary skill in self defense. | Citizen Publius User ID: 14935911 11/30/2012 12:58 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | While there is much good information here, in my opinion it is never a bad thing to get as much input as is possible when considering a purchase that is intended to protect the ones you love. Therefore, I will weigh in with my two cents. I firmly believe that concealed carry weapons for women (and many men) should be revolvers. I am not saying that women cannot handle a semi-auto handgun. In fact, I know women who can out shoot many men with a semi-auto or a revolver. However, a life threatening situation is certainly different than a day at the range, and it is my opinion that a revolver is the safer, more reliable choice (no stove-piping or other semi related issues to deal with). Take a look at the Taurus model 85 .38 spl. It has a small profile (5 shot) and a 2" bbl. It is also capable of shooting +P rounds. Couple this gun with some Speer Gold Dot 135 gr. +P hollow point ammo (used by leo's and specially made for short barrels) and you have a very formidable self-defense system. It's recoil was so sharp and the grips were so small (even for her hands) that she just hated it. So I moved her up to a 1911 commander style 9mm (ok, it was sort of for me too since I wanted a 1911 in something besides 45 .....just because that is neat). She likes it much better. We put some slender grips on it to fit her hands better. |
