There is a belief that those who turn away from God do so willingly, like it's blatantly obvious. And that's comforting, because others can say, "see those sinners, clearly sinners, but not me."

The cold hard truth is that most who turn away from God won't even know they're doing so. They think they're being good Christians. They'll think they're doing the right thing. The truly be oblivious to the fact that they are also sinners who are leading away from truth.
