No. I will enjoy a wonderful life with family and friends.

If you really want SHTF, you are either a failure, clinically insane, simply inadequate, or a combination of all three.

If SHTF doesn't occur this year I will be very disappointed. That means that I'll have to continue university mind control programming, then find a job to fit in with all the good sheep.

Live a normal life, go out socialize. Enjoy your time with family and friends, fall in love have a family maybe. Make goals, like buying a home or travel. Got one life, enjoy it cause you never know when your time will come.

Its so easy to sit at the computer and read about and worry of all the types of doom that MIGHT happen. But can you stop a solar flare or earthquake? Nope.

Just live life. If something bad happens deal with it, but take things you read with a grain of salt.

Dont worry about things that you cant control.

Cause you know, besides extra food and water, having money is a pretty good survival tool.

For me, prepping for TSHTF and ultimately bugging will be my salvation from a world gone full retard. I've had about as much as I can stand from our modern society... it's time to look for the exit. Regardless if TSHTF or not I'm still bugging out. I'd rather be living off the grid. Fuck the rat race.

Just be and stay prepared. What else can you do...
Don't just live your life like it's the last day or year or decade.
But spend quality time for yourself and family.

You have to find a balance in it all. Prep for the shit but still go live. Its the best of both worlds. Your prepared for anything and probably have some great stuff to show for it. Don't worry even if its not 2012 it could be anything later. There's lots of stuff out there to get you all the time. Personally if Mother Nature doesn't come for us this year the economy will and you'll be well insulated for it. Just rotate your stock but don't let your guard down. Your way ahead than the rest of these guys.

Not to mention Rick in the Walking Dead was not prepared for SHTF when he came out of his coma. But he did just fine... so far.

i started prepping three years ago.
the usuals, guns, food, ammo, water, medicines.
lately i been learning some craftsmanship so i can build my own little fortress once SHTF.
all in all, i spent roughly $70k, which is my entire life savings that i saved for over 40 years.

i think when preparing for SHTF, it is best to detach yourself from any loved ones, as it'll be extremely hard to bear the pain of watching them suffer.

also, there will be blood, raiding from town to town will be the way of life. i believe having a family will be a burden, if not a fatal mistake.

I think you are doing the right thing. I haven't spent 70k in preparing but maybe around 2-3k which is slightly better than the individual who knows nothing about their world. Next on the list is to learn about gardening and stock up on some seeds on my list.

Having family and friends is a fatal mistake. Since if you are the only one who is prepared and they are not. Guess who will come knocking @ your door?

What happens if you guys live a long life and get old and die a normal old age death. And no serious doom happens in your life. What are you gonna do with all those supplies you spent money on.

Actually I know people whom have spent way way more. Some have bought property that they have mortgages on and have to pay until SHTF. So for them if it doesn't they are saddled with extra debt. I already live the life style. I moved to the boonies 12 years ago and only started prepping 3 years ago. For me it was just getting EXTRAS stuff. I've spent a bit also but I also liberated myself and got rid of the STUFF thats useless and has no value. Sold It. Have learned alot being a prepper that I wouldn't have otherwise.
