Keep an eye on TWC today. I expect high TORCON values by this afternoon. It's heading for me by Sunday night. I'll be right in the middle of the dark red box. The temp/pressure gradient should be BIG.

I misread the title & only clicked on it thinking it was 6' lol. It's normal weather. Snow here in eastern wa as well. Some years a bit earlier than others. But, Butte & Great Falls, 6" in 5 hrs isn't shocking.

Look. As a resident of Montana we haven't seen a storm like this since the 50's! I wasn't even born. My grandmother mentioned it this morning. We have at least 20" if not more and it is STILL snowing. Tomorrow's wind chill calls for below zero. We may end up with no power. Who cares, right, it's just MT. I am so sick of the know it alls.. this storm is not normal. We literally had our town freeze under a sheet of ice two years ago. We just went biz as normal. This crap? This storm? Not normal. I live here! This is a storm that could do a lot of harm.

Btw, that 20" is Great Falls. It is STILL snowing. When OP said 7" we had a foot or more already. Accuweather was very wrong.

You people are funny. This is Montana. The towns you keep listing the large snow amounts in, are either in the Rocky Mountains or right next to the foot hills. This is normal, or at least what use to be normal. Finally we are getting a real winter!

So it it were to keep falling at that rate it would be a total of 48" snow.....

Hopefully, it is not forecast to keep falling at such a rate.

Yeah, this is pretty normal for Montana. Some people just got spoiled with the milder winters over the last few years.

Foot-plus of snow, below-zero temps and winds that will carry you to the next county are pretty normal. It's called a blizzard.

What's one of the sayings? If you have to run the snowblower on your roof, you must be in Montana...
