about full fledged pot legalization
why don't they just make it so when you smoke weed or whatever way you can do it that you don't get high from it, you wiull still get the same benefits for healing certain ailments ,just wont get high from it and be able to "abuse" it
i bet if they do that then stoners will still bitch about it cause the only reason they want it legal is so they can get high
.vasaline....don't forget to rub som eon

Yes you are quite correct...but look, stoners are what happens when people don't like to use their brain and end up giving their life away to what is in reality a very trivial way to live

Had I ever met one intelligent pot smoker I would be convinced otherwise but there are no intelligent pot smokers unfortunetly, at least not chronic ones

It is quite unfortunate that so many of our brighter minds turn to pot when they are young and end up being somewhat behind everone else when they reach graduation stage

I have heard that it has some very good healing properties yes, but the effects it has on the brain, specifically on short term memory, are wholey negative

Re: about full fledged pot legalization
op has never even met a 'stoner'.

>>get high

Getting 'high' IS the medical benefit, dipshit. It helps with appetite and stomach issues because the user gets stoned.

>>make it so that it can not

So you want some miracle team of geneticists to alter the genetic coding of all of the cannabis on earth? This is a wholly unrealistic goal.

>>too bad minds turn to weed etc

Carl. Sagan. Also I have an MA in sociology, and my best friends both teach at university and regularly publish (one in math, one in lit). They are both 'stoners'.

Weed doesn't make you smarter or dumber, but it can be a crutch for the weak. So can gambling, or My Little Pony.

OP - instead of making weed not get you high, why not just let people, ya know, make their own choices?

PS: I live in Washington state. We just legalized weed. DEAL WITH IT.

Please post a link to a citation.

Because you are misinformed. There is no long term affect to short term memory. There is however, a short time affect 'while stoned'.

Anyway, post a link backing up your claims.

NO, NOT WHOLLY NEGATIVE. As a scientist on a documentary noted, there are very good evolutionary reasons for not wanting to remember everything that happens during a day. We can only handle so much information, and so much trivial bullshit does not need to be retained. Our brains do this anyway, through the "bottleneck theory".

Weed is the longest cultivated plant by humans. It must have some benefit, don't you think?

I suspect weed does have some beneficial properties ( I don't really know), but it also has the effect of turning the user into a plankton who completley loses the ability to think in a rapid and clear manner...which for some people, especially those who can't fit in, is a god send but for anyone who relies on thier mind to function properly weed is highly destructive

Re: about full fledged pot legalization
I don't give a fuck if its legal or not , be damned if I would pay 260 an ounce for it. Hell I wouldn't pay 50 , if it was legal for all intents and purposes all you wanna be greeny sheiks are in for a rude suprise. If it is 100 % legal , it will be like zucchini , baskets of it by the side of the road with a sign that says FREE. Hell if it was legal legal all the way , plenty of folks would grow it just too fuck you wannabe green millionaires )

Re: about full fledged pot legalization
The only reason why people believe that pot is bad for them is because they've been programmed to think in that way.

It has been scientifically proven that if you smoke moderately (i.e. 3-7 times a week or so) you can actually benefit in maths. If you are a chronic smoker, however, you won't be able to complete maths to a substantial level (only because that part of the brain operates differently when you're high, and when you don't use maths frequently your brain forgets how to do it; simply because you aren't using that part of the brain.)

I could only find one relatively substantial reference however I wish I could find the others which allowed me to see all of the smoke and mirrors clouding the haze when I decided to smoke on a moderate to light level.

Muahhah.

The global cannabis prohibition is the best
political thinking machine available to the
masses.

Anyway - nobody's business at all, what I grow
around my own home.

Seed, dirt, water, sunshine.

The "chronics" I know all seem to display greater
potential for basic thought than most others.

How many of the top 100 mathematicians smoked 3-7 times a week?

You will find the answer is none

Now if we were compiling a list of the top 100 rappers that would be a different story
