Why would my friend be charged with a hate crime?

My coworker is now eating his lunch through a straw because he bumped in to a black guy at the club last night. The black man turned around and said "do you have a problem Cracka", before my coworker could answer him, he threw a right hook and busted his jaw.

I've been seeing so many threads from Canadians, brits, and netherlanders saying that Whites are racist, but I think it goes both ways and I am sick of hearing it.

I don't know why people are hateful to other human beings due to skin color, but it's a fact of life. Obama was elected 2 times now, and got a good bit of the white vote, so to say that all of white Americans are racist is ludicrous, and I feel they are just spouting out their own insecurities.

thirdly, it is not socially significant that some percantige of blacks dislike people of other races or harbour prejedice agains them. it's being immature and wrong, but it's not racism.going into south africa stealing people's land, chasing them out of their homes, into desert slums, not giving them basic human rights and treating them like animals to be measured and classified in terms of color, denying them education, jobs, human rights, basic civil freedoms, SYSTEMATICALLY keepng them poor, making it a crime for blacks and whites to make love, segregating them into seprate EVERYTHING however is racims.

He's actually a big kid, they just bumped shoulders by accident in a crowded club, they guy grabbed him on the shoulder, spun him around while saying got a problem cracka and punched him in the jaw. The clubs guards ran over real quick and snatched the black guy up and called the cops. The cops are always patrolling down by the south side and station square so it didn't take them long to come in and get him.
