Exactly, red controls the food supply, and with the drought this summer the supply is low. Red should feed red first.

Thread: Don't understand how Romney lost? I will tell you.

Romney won big areas of dirt and scrub but Obama won where the people live.

He won EVERY major city in America, including in the south. He won all the centers of light and learning. He won the east coast, the west coast and the north. Romney only won the majority in the south.

And if you look at a world map it will be almost completely blue.

These centers of "light and learning" had the highest concentration of blue votes in the shittiest neighborhoods.

Wow, is that true? That is incredible. I live in the middle and at this point some sort of secession is looking pretty darn good. It is so disproportionate. We have most of the resources and are keeping the coasts up and running just so they can vote for people we don't want. Ugh.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 11369766

And yet your explanation will on deaf ear. Nutbaggers cannot be reasoned with. And people like Drudge take advantage of their idiocy.
 Quoting: BZB

Drudge's map is accurate. The vast majority of counties in America go republican. I don't honestly understand the hostility of rural people to city people. It's disturbing.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 27364929

It's very simple. When you take a caged beast from the zoo and try to set it free - meaning- back to its more natural environment - it is usually rejected and killed. Why? Because one who has been caged develops behaviors, mannerisms, and routines that are unsuited for 'the wild'.

The vast majority of urban humans are the equivalent of caged beasts - and their way of life, behaviors, and overall state of existence is unsuited for the natural conditions of the rural world.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 27383317

Again...many who live in the city, grew up in the country and possess both urban and wilderness survival skills.

I grew up in the country. I adapted just fine. I still spend part of every year back at the family ranch in the country. I live in Los Angeles where I make my money and enjoy the city as much as the country. Some are capable of both.

It's not true.
The blue state of California alone could easily feed all the blue states plus several other nations. The red states mass produce on their factory farms GMO corn, soy and okra. Don't need that shit.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 27364929

Hey dumbass, California's agriculture depends on massive amounts of irrigation water piped in from RED STATES. Cut the water flow, California starves. Also, they produce fruits and vegetables, but not grain, except for rice, to any great extent. There are also now measurable levels of radioactive contamination from Fukushima showing up in California produce. Here are the totals for Blue States:
1. California
31,835,183 13.20%
5. Minnesota
9,794,912 4.06%
6. Illinois
9,708,304 4.02%
9. Wisconsin
6,864,150 2.85%
10. Florida
6,843,731 2.84%
14. Washington
5,868,196 2.43%
16. Colorado
5,501,155 2.28%
17. Ohio
5,459,380 2.26%
20. Pennsylvania
4,859,336 2.01%
22. Michigan
4,312,320 1.79%
27. Oregon
3,691,554 1.53%
28. New York
3,653,431 1.51%
31. New Mexico
2,564,863 1.06%
36. Maryland
1,743,357 0.72%
39. Delaware
933,843 0.39%
40. New Jersey
866,719 0.36%
41. Vermont
581,773 0.24%
42. Maine
553,830 0.23%
43. Hawai`i
549,830 0.23%
44. Connecticut
526,580 0.22%
45. Nevada
454,344 0.19%
47. Massachusetts
413,954 0.17%
48. New Hampshire
168,871 0.07%
49. Rhode Island
63,825 0.03%
51. Washington, D.C.
0 0%
Total 44.1% of total agricultural output, that is, if the people in the Red counties don't revolt and split from the urbanites.

But if Cal. loses its water, 44.1% drops to about 30% of total output. Can you say famine?

THE RED PARTS OF THE COUNTRY ARE NOT GOING TO WAR WITH THE BLUE PARTS. God, stop acting like there are any real secessionist movements going on in the USA. All of the country depends on the rest of the country for things.

Re: Drudge has an America nearly all red. I am trying to figure out what the hell does he mean.
As I pointed out earlier in this thread, the fighting over red and blue states is dumb.

BUT, if people want a more accurate view of population density than what Drudge posted, check this out:

[link to senseofevents.blogspot.com]

Suddenly the blue dots don't look so tiny when you factor in population.

I'm not saying this means Democrats or liberals are RIGHT, or CONTROL the country, but it does show you that there really is something to be said for population distribution.

I think Drudge is being a bit disingenuous with his 'red counties' map. The unsaid implication is that, "Oh, look at all these red counties! Look how many more Republicans there are than Democrats!"

But it's obvious there's a whole helluva lotta blue when you factor in the number of people, not just counties or states.

What does it mean? I dunno. But I think people should keep images like this in mind.
It's garbage day in America. Get down and stay down.

Look, I don't want to get into this argument because red or blue, both parties suck. But I really think some of you coastal dwellers should do something besides fly over at 30,000 feet before you pass judgement on the population of an entire region. Maybe check a few facts about the reputation of a few of the universities, or the production of a few of the businesses located here, or maybe see how the economy is doing in comparison to most of the country.

Look everybody has undesirables, big coastal cities are probably some of the worst. And I won't say that the culture in Kansas is the most exotic or exciting.

Bleh...I can't believe I even started responding to a jackass like you. Fuck off.

Oh, and the most productive agricultural state in the Union is California, one of the bluest of the blue states.
