More than 3 million ballots still to be counted in California

While more than nine million ballots were counted Tuesday, but state election officials say there are more than three million others that are uncounted and still need to be tabulated throughout California.

The uncounted are mostly vote-by-mail ballots submitted on election day and provisional ballots that include those turned in by people whose names were not on the lists at polling places, but who believe they are registered to vote.

The Secretary of State’s Office reported 3.08 million uncounted ballots late Thursday, including 2.1 million vote-by-mail ballots. That list does not include uncounted ballots from 12 of the 58 counties, including San Bernardino and Santa Barbara counties. [link to latimesblogs.latimes.com]

I wouldn't doubt it. Everyone my friends I know all said yes to it including me. I don't understand why people would want it defeated. Doesnt make any sense.

Someone actually said to me, "They already have laws against false advertising, so all GMO foods are already labeled, or it would be illegal! Groceries cost too much as it is!"

Heard on my local radio this morning that Calif. still had 4 million votes still uncounted. My county, with pop. of 98K, has 15,000 still uncounted.

Also my county said they re-checked some ballots and found 17 of them invalid but said they weren't going to change the official count thus far since 17 wouldn't change the results. WTH??? I wonder how many counties do the same thing?

I wonder how many other states have uncounted votes?

Are you serious??? No GMO foods are labeled as such. Only USDA Organic foods are labeled.

Here's the results specifically for Prop 37. It "lost" by roughly 500,000 votes:

I voted for it.

Election officials often call elections even before the votes are counted, when they know the areas that are being counted are going to vote overwhelmingly for one side.

Like in Ohio how they called it when only 74% of the vote was counted, they knew that the remaining 26% would break for Obama overwhelmingly, so there was no need to wait. And they were right too.

I don't KNOW if this is the same case as that, but it's likely.

I don't think as the OP suggests that ALL of the votes are in yet. Just that the precincts reported some votes. Yes/no?

Orange county is home to a lot of wealthy people, and wealthy people know that GMO is bad. Hell, even obamabot movie stars were making videos for GMO labeling. This should have passed.

um, YEAH, it lost by only about 200 votes!!!!
