The CIA Director, has resigned from the administration over an extramarital affair. Petraeus was slated to testify before Congress next week on the murder of four Americans, including Ambassador Chris Stevens, in Benghazi. Bret Baier of Fox News just tweeted, "With Petraeus’ resignation effective immediately, he will not testify next week & lawmakers are said to be 'stunned' by the announcement."

UPDATE: Brett Baier reports his source, who spoke to the General within an hour of the official public notifcation, says Petreaus WANTS to testify at the “under oath” Senate Hearings on Benghazi next week. Yet, the White House states Petreaus will not?

If Petraeus was threatened to resign or he would be exposed, he could just as easily have said he was "resigning for family or health reasons".

This story completely stinks.

You know, this is a personal matter between him and his wife. It has no bearing on his job. I may not be a fan of the guy but this isn't anyone's business but theirs, and it's sick that we are hanging on to it.
