Actually that was an attempt by the democrats to steal the election away from Bush using the same tactics. Going over each ballot and reversing the vote. That's how I remember it. The supreme court graciously stopped the nonsense.

Those districts in doubt in 2000 were all democratic. They just failed to steal enough votes. This year though, the democrats sunk to a new low.
