nah, it's a matter of honor. There is a provision in the UCMJ for adultery, Article 134. The good general just knew that's what he had to do. Then there is the fact the young lady had access to his email, a definite no-no. Given all of that and the fact that he's probably given out a court martial or Article 15 to someone sometime about that...he had to.

FU. Are you military? Years and years of deployment is hell on the service member and the family. If he has been a good family man all these years, was cleared by the CIA as having no blackmail potential threats against him--why now? This smells rancidly.

Frankly I'm surprised about this alleged affair happening too. The letter is written by him although it's very hard to believe. It's been a while but I think I worked for the man sometime in my years in the Army.

To be honest things like that happen every once in a while even amongst the senior officer and NCO ranks. I've seen more than once unfortunately
